@ DEXTER:

The fact of the matter is you DONT OWN THESE BOARDS..nor are you the moderator of the Alpha board. Anyone can post. The issue has been dropped, but you want to hold the hand of your little "soror" and show her the light of greekdom since she is just a neo and a child..KNOCK YA SELF OUT!!

HELL NAW!

If I ever wanted to be a Delta I could have been.

If I wanted to be a Zeta I would have checked myself into a psychiatric ward.

Loath be the day if I ever wanted to be a Sigma Gamma Rho,... well I would have had to just kill myself.

PURE IGNORANCE is what I will chalk that comment up too!!! I never made comments like that as a neo! I've been in SGRho going on 5 years and I'm currently in a grad chap therefore I won't stoop to that level, b/c I would have a lot for you to "shake off!"
That comment proves why Greeks need to learn to work together! Yes you may say you were just kidding, but you play with your friends, and that I am not! Please don't take that wrong. I mean, I might joke w/ Greeks I know personally, but this is a public board and you need to be RESPECTFUL of others! :p
Love, Peace, and Greek UNITY!!!

@ TRUE ZETA

I don't have to explain nothing!! I own and take charge of whatever I choose to! That's just me. Fortunatly I'm not a neo. So if you gonna bring your tired comments to me, don't just post them here PM me, Please!!!!

I have to agree with my Soror. Dang folks drop it! There are those in this forum that tend to take ish to personal and seem to be always on the defensive.

I am a strong believer of working with other Greeks (sororities and Frats) and I see it as very positive! :) I actually think that we are more unified in cyberspace than we are in the "real world". Sometimes I think we let the fact that we choose to be in different sororities and frats., take over our commonsense ! :) (as i read in previous posts) I know that (speaking only about my experience) there have been times when I or other members wanted to do an event with another group, when my sorors may have said NO WAY...or we got a NO WAY response !:) But I say to each his own. Sometimes people are guilty of just going with the flow and if Soror ABC doesn't like XYZ then some feel that they need to believe that too. We had a soror who hated another Greek from a different org., they had it out and it was then tried to be turned into an ABC versus SGRho issue when it was just...we were two dumb females who messed around with the same no good man BS!! :) So I think there are deeper reasons then just being in different orgs., why we do not try and work together, and some are just really stupid as hell!( And as we all know being Greek, sometimes your fellow sorors and frats., try to drag you and your Sorority and Frat into their "INDIVIDUAL", mess)
I have read through the comments and although I may not have agreed, at least people were being honest about how they feel.
But I can understand why some people were really angry at some of the comments. But as long as you are confident in your choice then who cares what anybody else may think or feel. If I reacted on every rude, nasty comment that has been made about SGRho...I would still be trying to kick some a**!:)
But in a lot of cases we do not even show unity as African-Americans, let alone just being in different orgs. So maybe we should try getting that together first and foremost.

Listen, I would love to keep this discussion going, but I'm in serious discussions in the "White or Gay" topic. If you come over there and read what's going on, you will see why alll BGLO's need to stick together

Looking at the last dozen or so posts, I guess the question as to whether Greek Unity can ever be achieved has been clearly answered... hmmmm...

Looking at the past dozen or so posts I can see why some people are against being Greek.....drama!!! Such as my soror Tenacious said, we even have drama when sorors or frat drag us into their personal issues w/ a member of another oganization! Soror I know what you speak of and I so kindly kept my nose out that mess, and I'm glad most of my sorors did, though a few fell prey. :( Women and their drama... do men experience this too!?!?  :(

Honestly we must rise above the drama and display the purpose in which our founders envisioned! A purpose so bright we gotta wear shades... .... lol!!! (I know that was dry!) :)

It has been achieved. Its called the NPHC. Do not be guilty of extrapolating a few cyber-disagreements into believing that we cannot be positive and unified. I felt awfully unified when a Kappa spent the weekend in my home a few days ago or when an AKA and I enjoyed a nice 2hr conversation on a plane ride. Stop letting the 1% out-shine the majority. Beef would not fester if intelligent people ignored ignorant comments (or if they were deleted in a timely manner)

SeriousSigma22 03-27-2002 09:25 PM

DoggyStyle82,

Well stated! From one old head to another (Spr. 83)! Your examples are true examples of greek Unity! Interacting in a positive manner with other members of the NPHC on a daily basis - that is true greek unity!

This is to Everyone - - - It's not always what we say but how it is received. In the last few days all hell has broken loose. In fact, I did not even keep up with this thread and if I had I would have put an end to it long ago. Folk will not be allowed to come to this site calling names and disrespecting others. As college educated folk we should be able to debate topics and have fun with each other without personal attacks or attacks on our organizations. Let's act like educated adults and move on from this shit!

On a personal note - thanks to the pretty one for pm me about this thread. You know I missed this one!!!!!!!
