ACK!!!!! I thought you were my friend!!!
From what I recall learning from our founder (she was alive until she was almost 100!), KKG and Theta were in the process of building their sorority duplex in either 1959 or 1960 when Pitt designated Amos the sorority dorm and forced everyone else into Amos. They held a lottery with the sororities to let them pick which sorority would get which suite, and Alpha Delta Pi won the chance to choose. That's why ADPi got the Penthouse floor. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that Delta Zeta got second choice. With some sororities not able to draw the numbers for a whole floor, that's why only four sororities had a whole floor when I rushed (ADPi, Tri Delta, Chi O and DZ), and the rest had the formal side and other sororities filled the other.
FWIW, I was in the Kappa house before I was in the Cathedral - my high school boyfriend's elder sister was president.

Okay, I've been doing a little research on this.
The Kappa/Theta duplex opened in 1965. I don't know where the two sororities were from 1960-1965, but I'm guessing not in Amos Hall. I just can't imagine Pitt allowing them out of Amos after being there.
Phi Mu & Zeta Tau Alpha were on campus until around 1965, so they were probably in Amos Hall. I would love to know which floor! I'll keep on looking...
