Hi! Just got in!
It was so wonderful meeting AGDLynn and dzrose and putting faces with names and discussing all the recent hot topics--and learning that we do a lot of the same things, like skipping over the fraternity posts!!:D Both women are dedicated alums of their sororities and ladies, I'm so happy to have met you! And after planning to meet again soon, my family and I left for another mall where we bought one of the seniors a gorgeous formal--rose-colored at the top shading down into pale pink by the hem--and then the baby threw up forever and ever in the van so it was a real pleasant ride back! |
Sorry to have missed it!
It sounds like you had fun. Unfortunately, I had to work today and couldn't make it. I hope I'll be able to meet all the Georgia gals sometime soon.

i missed it too
i had no clue this was happening (had happened) until James pointed it out. Ironically, I had posted in the DST forum that I wanted to plan a meet & greet for the ATL folks. DEFINETLY count me in for the next one.

After our long lunch, I drove up to another mall to look for a replacement earring of one that hubby gave me for Christmas and I lost. Didn't find the exact match but got one simliar.
Home for about an hour and turned around and went back to the 2nd mall area (about an hour drive from home) to go Dave & Buster's which is like a casino (but like hubby says, you have to pay for your own drinks.) Went to dinner and back to D&B. Got home around 1:30 a.m.!! Slept late Sunday and off to fraternity meetings. One thing that has impressed me about Panhellenic-type events is that sorority/fraternity (yea, some female organizations like AGD are fraternities), no matter what the ages and how long we've been out of school, and where we went to school, can find things to talk about for hours. DZRose and I are working with the collegiate and alumnae chapters. Carnation doesn't have a chapter nearby but she is a definite Greek asset to her college, especially in trying to get NPC organizations on camppus to deflect the negative aspects of local groups. Hopefully, next month more talkers will come! |
Atlanta meeting - SUCCESS!
I had a GREAT time meeting carnation and AGDLynn on Saturday! :) I could have talked for hours, but, like AGDLynn said, my boyfriend was waiting at the Rio Bravo bar by himself so I had to run -- luckily he only had one margarita with his lunch so we were still able to go furniture shopping afterwards. :D (We're STILL looking for the perfect armoire for the bedroom and an entertainment center for the den.)
Our Atlanta GC gathering was so much fun, and it was definitely nice to be able to finally put a face to the GC names! :D It's amazing how much we have in common just because of our Greek ties! Meeting carnation's family was awesome -- she's definitely got her hands full, but they are all precious! All you other Atlanta-area GCers need to join us next time! The more, the merrier. ;) |
