Didn't want to hijack AndysToys thread (which is EPIC and I can't wait to hear the end of...but...)

Has anyone heard rumblings of quota? Bids come out at 5pm today!

pinapple 08-27-2013 02:29 PM

Quota

Quota is 70. Underclassman 54, Upperclassman 16. (These are prelim numbers)

Do most chapters take all of the upperclass quota?

DubaiSis 08-27-2013 03:46 PM

Do we know when bid day festivities are set to begin?

On a detour:

In general (not treading on membership selection), why would a chapter not utilize the upperclassmen quota?

Because they're not extending any bids to upperclassmen, the reason, why or rational behind those decisions however would all fall under MS and be specific to each individual chapter.

That way, there would actually be room in the system for all upperclassmen at pref the way there is for freshmen. A chapter that wanted to take just one or two upperclassmen could still do so if they wanted to.

When on earth would they do that? Asking them to make that decision too early is impinging on membership selection, not to mention they don't know from day to day who's coming back and who's not. Plus, word would get around and it would be like another version of the girls who are trying to get out of pledging the more expensive sororities.

It really suprises me that quota is this small :( It seems that early cuts were so harsh... I just don't understand why the new mwmber classes are not a lot larger.

That is a few off of last year even though there were more girls registered. I think this shows where RFM is a bit of a guessing game. They might ease off a smidge next year. But it could also be by intention... wanting to keep quotas under control?
