You are 28, but still use bad sentence structure? You should focus more on your education. If this has already been addressed, I apologize. I don't really feel like reading this whole thread.

It's kind of hard to write on here from my phone.

That has *nothing* to do with the improper use of the word "like." Sorry, try again.

I think she was just using the written form of the spoken vernacular, as with the phrase “stick it,” for instance.

I suppose “stick it” is actually a sentence, since the understood subject of the suggestion is "you."

;)

I write a lot for the type of work I do and I don't care to double check my grammer especially on blogs or forums. I'm not going to argue with you, you win.

Doesn't your phone have spell check? I think it can help a lot.

Viewbug84 09-16-2012 03:53 PM

Nope. I has horrible auto correct that never corrects what I want to type with the right wording. It's a new phone for me.....HTC

Does your own electronic device have punctuation check? Ditto. Check your own posts.

Seriously, are those of you piling on to highlight spelling and grammar errors trying to be helpful, or just looking for something -- anything -- to criticize?

Aren't you being a little hypocritical? I was trying to help her. I was not trying to be mean.

Thanks! I should have checked myself, and I didn't take the time. I could blame it on my smart phone or something, but...

No, not really. If I was being hypocritical, I would have randomly swerved off-topic, in other threads, and noted that your own sentence construction...

I think what she said is harsh and do not think she should have written it but did you read the negative things this poster wrote about real sororities in her original posts? I can understand why people would be upset about her attitude going into recruitment and thinking that she got the kind outcome she deserved. You seem to be very judgey yourself and only write when you can point out how someone is being mean and I would expect a lot more out of someone who is old enough to be a mom.
... would cause a middle school English teacher to bleed red ink. Would you have felt "helped?"

I assume, instead, that other posters do not approach writing a post on a message board with the same care that they might exercise when writing a professional paper. I certainly don't.

You are a big hypocrite. You're always stirring up drama here then stepping back, clutching your pearls and pointing at everyone and telling them how mean they are. I would think you would have gotten over that kind of dramatic behavior and developed some maturity by your advanced age. Now you can take that sentence structure and put it in a place where magnolias will never grow. Have a blessed day.

Ahem, you are the person who highlighted a misspelling and suggested spell check.

Now you are sore that your own errors were pointed out? I was just trying to "help" and all. See how that plays?

Who is the hypocrite again?
