I like Aussie stuff. Doesn't fry my hair, doesn't make it greasy, smells NICE.

I'm pretty lucky - relatively low maintenance hair. It's long, medium brown/mahogany shade and pretty much straight. When I was a toddler, I had curly little ringlets, then it went stick straight and fine for years, now it's getting more body again. If I put it up and pieces fall lose, they'll curl up on their own.

My hairdresser told me to just shampoo at the roots of my hair and let it rinse through the rest of my hair. That way the ends don't get dried out. And then to just put conditioner on the ends and let it sit before rinsing it out, so the roots don't get flat. Sometimes I'll just leave a little conditioner in to fight the frizzies.

But pretty much all I have to do to my hair (besides wash it, LOL)is keep it trimmed nicely (split ends are a B*TCH!) and brush it as I blow dry it. Plus this gel that I use...

I lay down the $$$ for styling products. I get ISO multiplicity disciplining smoothing gel. If any of you have long hair that you want straight and smooth, BU Y THIS STUFF! It's wonderful. And my hair isn't flat either. Or greasy - just feels silky and soft. I love my hair. Having long hair is just so fun and makes me feel cute. :) Plus guys like it too. :)

I keep trying the salon brands and they never do it for me. Right now I really like Herbal Essences Intensive Blends for dry/damaged hair. My hair really isn't damaged but it is pretty long and I like to keep it very smooth. I use the shampoo and conditioner, and a few times a week I use the deep conditioning balm. It smells good and it works well, though it doesn't give me the orgasmic experience you see on tv!!!!!!!

So....I tried the Hot Oil thing and I'm less than impressed. Initially my hair felt very silky but once it was dry I really couldn't tell a difference. 3 days later it still feels very silky when it's wet/I'm washing it but when it's dry I feel like there is a film on it. :( I guess it's all the waxy buildup on my hair from the "hot oil" Oh well.
