Here are some Midwest results:
*University of Northern Iowa matched 14 fabulous new members! Quota was 20 but we're focusing on quality over quantity. Total was re-set from 55 to 60.
*Monmouth College (Illinois) matched Quota (21) plus 2 Quota Additions, so 23 new members! HUGE improvement over last fall when they gained 8 new members through formal recruitment.
*Northern Michigan University gained 4 new members through formal recruitment!
*Carroll University (Wisconsin) matched Quota (13) plus 1 Quota Addition for a total of 14 new members!
*Iowa Wesleyan has pledged 3 new members so far this semester! They are a COB-only campus.

I heard today that West Liberty nearly TRIPLED their chapter size. They had 9 active members and got 19 new members! WOW!:D

**Reminder - if you're going post results, please also include quota, so I don't have to hunt it down from the NPC thread... it'll make it easier for me to keep this updated more regularly. Thanks :)

The Epsilon Kappa colony at Western Kentucky pinned 80 new Xis on Sunday. So proud and happy that my chapter is back!! The ceremony was wonderful. It was great to see alumnae in attendance and to meet the new members. One of the original 1966 colony members was able to attend, which was also special.

Per Facebook .. Iota Eta at UTEP received 21 new members. No mention of quota.

AZ-AlphaXi how did you like the Hill? There is so much activity and growth there. I was on campus a month ago.

So many changes since I was in school in the early 1970s. Especially the closure of the road that went past Grise Hall and DUC between the dorms. Amazing as to how much the campus has grown down the hill, what was fields where we held greek week events is now dorms. I was amazed at the new Sigma Nu and SAE houses (or should I say mansions?).

Per a facebook post Pi chapter at Ohio University has 33 new members no mention of quota.

Also, the colony at DePaul took 45 new members during DePaul's partially structured recruitment that ended today. Quota was 24. The colony will continue with additional recruitment this coming week.

That's two AmaXing colonizations on the last two Sundays. :-)

That's an interesting rush format - compete with the established chapters during rush and THEN hold the traditional colony rush. I wonder if this was being test-run here to see if it might work at other campuses. Has anyone heard of a colony being handled this way?

Most of the colonies in the last several years have run under this format - the school has regular recruitment, and then the colony does it's own thing afterward. The colony usually participates in an open round just to say "Hi, we're here" and then they bow out. Paige - does that sound pretty accurate to you? I think thats' the way UIUC, San Jose, and Coastal Carolina all happened.

DubaiSis 09-26-2011 03:12 PM

No, I get it about the open round, but it sounds like they went through the entire rush process, or went parallel to formal rush. Regular rush ended the same day colony recruitment did, as opposed to having day one, taking a week break while the rest of the school finishes rush and then continuing on with the colony stuff. I think it's an interesting idea and seems to have been successful. It just seemed new to me.

AZ-AlphaXi 09-26-2011 04:05 PM

Amanda, yes that's also the way the WKU colony was organized. But, I understand that the DePaul colony was different, since DePaul has partially structured recruitment, that seems to lend itself to participation by a colonization group better than does formal recruitment.

Partially Structured recruitment has a different structure as to how many parties a PNM can attend with preference being the only invitation only event.
