I have a similar story! I've always wanted to join a sorority (and been told by many ppl that they could seem me in one or that i would be great for it). I want to rush this coming fall! However, for me it was mainly the lack of funds and being busy(i worked a lot... i order to make money because i needed to stay in school) that kept me from rushing. Also in addition to working over my 4 years i have been/remained very active on campus and have been involved in several different departments/realms on campus and have met/worked with a lot of people(i <3 making new friends/networking). Its funny to me i feel college has worked in opposite form. typically 1st years have less on their plate and it gradually increases. But for me i feel i was very very busy my 1st and 2nd year and have gradually been less busy. As far as my gpa im not 100% sure what is the requirement on my campus but i have an idea, which i believe i meet. (im working to be grad school competitive so im very aware of my gpa and its importance) I am going to be a 5th year next year (senior standing) because it's hard to get classes in my major, i have a minor and i still work(on campus). I think I have a lot to offer as i have experience holding official meetings, planning large well attended events, and reps my campus locally, nationally and on campus. I feel like I'll have and will be missing something and i dont want to go on thinking woulda shoulda coulda if I didn't try. I was just wondering what you think? I dont think im too old or that it will look bad or something. I am secure in myself and because i know the person i am and i can and will bring something great, special and unique to any org. i just would like to know your thoughts and opinions. Thanks so much ya'll |
