That's great, ZTAngel!

Haha, what a funny pic, ZTAngel!
I'm from Atlanta and I totally sympathise. My friends and I were looking at the snow on the Athens roads and joking about how they probably won't get plowed for a day or so because the one snow plow that all of Georgia shares hasn't gotten up here yet. |
DAY 4 OF NO SCHOOL...THIS IS FLIPPIN' RIDIC!
I think we MAY have gotten 2 snow days out of this when I was in school in IL...MAYBE. Probably not, since the plows would have been out before, during, and after the storm, and there would have been enough salt on the road to season the entire Progresso factory, therefore having the roads clean by Tuesday for school. http://www.google.com/url?source=img...g48Dq3ksipCc2A |
Day 4 here too. Not any melting that I can see but I hear that the snow/ice is melting enough during the day that it trickles out and refreezes on the road, creating black ice. We've been able to get out the last 2 days during the day, though.

OleMissGlitter, when did they paint the Chi O house white? It's been a few years since my trip to Oxford. It looks fabulous.

I got to work and home all in 1 piece. There were some very small icy spots; only on the road beside my building was 1 of the 4 lanes blocked. Luckily it is was the fartherest right.
Once I got to work, I continued to have problems lokking into a mucho-needed website. For some reason it keeps kicking me jout so tomorrow I get to be on a conference call with 2 AT&T folks (THANKFLLY one of them worked here before the governor got the stupid idea to outsource State computer maintenance.) |

We're not getting any precipitation here anymore -- just cold and wind. I wish there was some rain or snow so that I can work from home again. |
Wow! It's snowing again.
|
We have mucho snow on top of ice. I haven't been out of the house since Wed. when I drove through the Walgreen's pharmacy. I think it's not too bad once you get out of the subdivision.
I'm getting real tired.... |
i made it to work 2 out of 5 days this week due to the icy blizzary and snow. thankfully i was able to work from home. did anyone else get the rolling blackout? the electricity went out 2 times on wednesday, but not for more than 15 minutes each.

LOL @ all of you, scared of a few snowflakes. :p
My first job out of college required weekly travel to Northern Virginia. One day, I flew into National (DCA - I refuse to call it Reagan) and drove out to my job site in weather that would be described in New England as "light snow". I had to contend with a bunch of cowards in the right lane on I-66 who refused to go faster than 10mph because "OMG TEH BLIZZARD". I zipped around 'em at 50 in my rental. If you can't handle driving in snow, I have two suggestions for you. (a) Don't drive if you don't have to. If you do have to drive, slow down and take care. (b) For the love of God, DON'T MOVE TO NEW ENGLAND. We have enough asshats here who can't drive in snow. We don't need more. |
We're calling it Snopocalypse here. Three days out of school- probably should have been four... and we're expected to get more on Sunday and Wednesday.
|
I caught the rolling blackout twice on Wed. morning, but just for about 15-20 minutes each time.
I leave for Hawaii on the 18th - already planned before this lovely weather hit. |
All times are GMT -4. The time now is 06:27 AM. |
