So my boyfriend and I have been dating for about 8 months. I've only met his family a couple of times. We are doing Christmas with my family. I was going to send a card to his family, but I don't know if I should do something else.

Portable XM Radios and subscriptions

What is it you want to know? I gave my parents Sirrius a few years back and they love it.

Totally different ;)

Oh, I was speaking for the uninformed (such as myself!). ;) However, he's told me something that he REALLY wants, so nix on the Dr. Who theme.

Me. I am extremely lucky when it comes to radio contests, and couldn't begin to mention how many things I've wom. Probably the best was Steeler tickets for a game on my birthday was the best, though.

Probably twirling out to the Grateful Dead channel evem as we speak! ;)

I'll be spending Christmas with my fiance's family. His mother & I have gifted each other for years, but his (much elder) sisters and I haven't. Would special candy and cookies be appropriate, or should I go further? I have no idea if they'll have anything for me or not, and his mother has smoothly (as oposed to subtlely) indicated not to spend much.

One more: all of the financial sites are saying not to buy electronics prior to Christmas. Any recommendations for the one I'll buy the day after? I've been checking out the hp dvt series, fwiw.

You would buy an additional subscription. I used to have two -- one for the car and one portable unit. It isn't as expensive as two separate subscriptions. I think it was around half the price of the first subscription.

I was in the same spot last year. A nice bottle of wine or a pointsettia works, IMHO.

I have one I need help with! My sister bought seals for my mom's stocking, and she wants me to find green, blue and/or white/silver wax to go with them. Any idea where I can find it? I was thinking maybe Michael's?

If Michael's doesn't have it .. how about a Halmark store?

Prior to Christmas, allthose sales that you see are because stores like your Best Buys and HHGreggs are trying to get rid of those last year models of electronics to make room for next year models, that's why and that's the only explanation. if you want to wait for the new stuff, mid to late Januaray is when some of the new stuff starts to roll in. But regardless of when you buy, any electronic is obsolete the moment you take it out of the box ;)

I need help in keeping the cat out of the Xmas tree. I've sprayed the entire tree in a citrus scented cat deterrent but my lil terror isn't fazed at all.

I also squirt her with a water gun when she gets in the tree but she doesn't seem to care and keeps going back into the tree.

ETA-

Found this online and it made me lol!

Put something like orange peels under the tree to make your cat less likely to go near it. (Cats also dislike the smell of rotten apples. If no apples are available use fresh dog feces.)

I volunteered to wrap presents for the family. Am I crazy? Haha no, I just like doing it and it stresses other people out.

I say no to the dog feces. (Where do people come up with these ideas!)

We put jingle bells on the bottom of the tree for the cats to play with and it seems to keep them from climbing. They actually like chewing the ribbon and bows and lying on the skirt more than climbing. The best advice I have is to make them a better offer somewhere close.

Caveat: The coupon is only for Borders Rewards members.

And it's only in-store, not online.

Though if you are a Borders Rewards PLUS member, you get an extra ten percent!

In a perfect world, I would be able to get the complete Girlfriends series on DVD for sixty percent off. Alas, it's only available online. Plus I'm broke.

So you need something mail-able? I'm a big fan of restaurant gift cards. Most people like food, and it's something not too personal.
