I am also over Mr. Shue. He is written SO SQUARE. I've never thought of Britney Spears as racy or too sexy. She's way more tame than the R&B/Hip Hop singers they've borrowed from the past year. I'm tired of the writers giving him split personalities when it comes to music selection, and his general lameness.

Also, what is with the principal's constant threats to disband the glee club? Seriously, enough with it, it got old after the first couple of times. And if the student body loves the performances like "Push It" and "Toxic" so much, why are all the glee club kids still nerds? At my school the select/jazz choir kids were actually really popular.

I definitely agree with everything you said!!

1. There was actually more than one girl at my high school who acted just like Rachel. It got obnoxious for sure.
2. Mr. Shue... agree. What was with him randomly buying a Corvette? Isn't that like, impossible to do in real life anyways?
3. The choir/band/theater people were all really popular too at my school. But so were the cheerleaders and the football team.

Another thing that really bugged me about this week was the whole part with Jacob (Jew Fro kid). The scene where he gets caught naked is COMPLETELY inappropriate and pretty disgusting, and during the pep rally, the things that he yells/does are also pretty darn offensive. I'm not a prude or anything like that, but I just thought it was too much. My mom watches this show and I know she's gonna call me and be like "DID YOU SEE THAT?!" Haha.

I guess I don't see Rachel as all that bad. I mean, she has admitted low self-esteem, she doesn't see herself as pretty, and she hasn't ever had a "real" friend. And now she has a boyfriend that previously dumped her to "find his inner rock star" and is fairly popular.

Of course she is going to think he is going to dump her at any minute and be completely neurotic. She's 15 and high strung!

I actually thought is was pretty cool of Quinn to try and hit on Finn for Rachel. It showed that Quinn isn't completely back to her HBIC ways.

I loved this episode because I love Brittany Spears. I grew up with her so seeing all the songs/dance numbers were fantastic. I guess I don't really look for a lot of content to episodes, just a basic plot and lots of songs so I don't really see the need for an extravagant plot line.

I'm not really a fan of Sue...I guess I keep thinking of how in the real world, she would be toast in about 5 seconds.

Anyway, kudos to her for telling Santana (is that her name?) that it was a stupid idea to get a boob job at her age! Actually, in truth, sure didn't look like she got one!;)

I agree that the scenes with the frizzy haired kid in Sue's office and in the stands were very inappropriate.

So... What did everyone think of last week's episode?

I really liked it - I like how they addressed faith issues that people deal with. My only gripe is that they left plenty of unresolved issues (especially with Finn and Kurt) that I seriously doubt will get screen time in future episodes.

In terms of music, I really enjoyed "Papa Can You Hear Me?" I'm usually hot and cold (more cold) with the song "One of Us," but I can't stop listening to this version.

I thought the episode was awesome -- Glee at its best.

As for unresolved issues -- seems particularly appropriate for this episode. Life has unresolved issues. Trying to wrap them up in an hour show isn't realistic.

I agree that there's nothing wrong with having unresolved issues - I'm just doubtful that they will ever be addressed on the show again, which is a shame because I enjoyed the plot line.

I actually cried, it was a very good episode!

I didn't like it! I really don't feel like Glee has been that amazing this season, and it's really bumming me out.

I felt that way about the first two episodes, but like I said, I thought this one was really, really good.

I particularly liked the use of "I Want to Hold Your Hand." (Happy Birthday, John Lennon.) To turn it from a love song to a song from a son to a father was genius, I thought.

I totally agree! I was tearing up the whole time thinking about people I have lost and how just holding their hand would be such a gift.

FWIW, that's from a Broadway Bares event where Broadway stars wear next to nothing as a fundraiser to fight HIV/AIDS. Think Burlesque.

I wasn't a fan of last weeks "duets" episode. None of the "duets" interested me and for the first time since the show has been on I didn't buy a single song from Itunes.
I'm not sure about next week either because I'm not a fan of Rocky Horror Picture Show. It just has never impressed me. I had friends in high school who were completely obsessed with it, I never saw the appeal, so I'm not sure how much I'm looking forward to this episode.

I'm ready to see John Stamos again and want him to do some singing.

I'm also wondering what they are going to do with Terri and Will.

What did everyone think of The Rocky Horror Glee Show? I liked the musical numbers a lot!!
