Has anyone received a PM from her? I am really wondering how things are going for her...
|
Yeah, me too. I'm HOPING they got this worked out on Friday and she's too busy getting caught up on all the fun and love at her new chapter so she's forgotten about us!

I call shenanigans on this entire thread.

Shenigans or the OP is embaressed that something else went wrong. I do stand by my comment that, despite my keeeping my mouth shut during my daughter's recruitment, if something really goes offtrack, a call to Panhellenic is not out of line. There are times, when there are too many egos and a lack of maturity and defensiveness, that there might be a need for a parental interjection. (NOT a "you're wrong and I hate you", but rather a "we have a challenge and how do we solve the conundrum?") And NOT, "my daughter didn't get what she "deserved" and I'll call the university provost, president, and claim all sorts of bad things to get her what she wants."
And I do know of one such incident...over many years of parenthood. |

I have known a couple of women who didn't receive bids after attending preference night events. They figured that they placed fairly on the lists at some very competitive sororities. However, the Rho Chis were able to inform them about their lack of bids, sparing them the embarassment of attending bid day activities. I think most of these women received bids through snap bidding or COB events.
I was hoping that we would hear more from the OP but ... |

Seriously? Someone would post all this just to jerk our chains? Please... say it ain't so! Do we need to round up the flaming torches and pitchforks?

Followup
Hey everyone!
First off, for everyone who thinks I made this up, I wish! I'm not sure why you think that. Second, I'm so sorry for disappearing without finishing my story. After I posted here I got an email (on my personal email, not on here) from someone in The Greek life office at my school reminding me that nothing on the internet is anonymous. I guess I got really embarrassed that I had been caught and didn't log on to gc for a few months. But I want to thank everyone who gave me kind words and good advice on this thread and through PMs. I read them all, even if I didn't respond. To finish up my experience, I am not a member of a national sorority. For whatever reason, it didn't work out fast enough for me. I did, however, start getting friendly with a girl in one of my classes who is a member of a local sorority. I met the girls, loved them, and got a bid right away! No ranking, no computers... It was so easy! So even though I didn't have a fairytale experience, I couldn't be happier with where I ended up. Sometimes I feel sad about the npc sororities I loved during recruitment, but everything happens for a reason. I'm not going to say which sorority I'm in since its only at my school and I don't want to give that away and embarrass them, especially since they know about this post. Thanks again for reading and all of your great advice, Sophie |
