Scrubs: This was my first party of the night. I LOVE their house. It's so cute and amazing and wonderful. I felt really at home there like it was someplace I could chill and/or live. Their house was huge, even though it doesn't look like it from the outside. They had yummy and cute food decorated in their colors, which was really nice! We did a cute little craft for their philanthropy which I loved. I had so much fun chatting with PNMs and sisters. Except one sister kept laughing at me at awkward times (and she was a senior so she had been through it before) when I didn't say anything funny (or so I thought). Other than that, I had a lot of fun and I really hoped I convinced them that I really am interested/fit in well with them.
Glee: I went here second. Their house is pretty plain, but cute from the outside. When I walked in I was amazed at how much it felt like a home! It was beautifully decorated, very spacious, and very deceptively large on the inside. I met some girls that I didn't know, which was really cool. I even got to meet their chapter advisor, who was so awesome to talk to. I also met a girl who is seriously my twin... we are so alike in almost every way! It was kind of freaky. She even knew someone who I grew up with even though we lived nowhere near each other. I felt like they were kind of surprised that I was there, but as the party went on I most definitely felt more welcomed. I'm not getting my hopes up here but I had a fun time and would be happy to pref. here :)
Firefly: This was my third party of the night. Since these girls didn't have a house, their party was in another campus building. The only downside of that was that the room we were in was really echo-y, which made it hard to hear at first. I think the reason I didn't get invited back here was because I only met about 5 girls and didn't spend the most time there, which I take full responsibility for. I'm SO glad I went to this party. I clicked with all of the girls I talked to, and we got into some deep conversation. They definitely seem to have the same goals and interests as I do, and I see a great potential for personal growth here. They took me by surprise in the best of ways! I think they are rising up my list and becoming a favorite and I couldn't be happier.
Pretty Little Liars: There was no way that I was going back to this chapter after how incredibly rude they were to me last time. It doesn't affect me at all in terms of my standing, because I wasn't invited there, so it's not like I just didn't go. I wasn't invited back so I didn't go. I heard from a lot of other girls that they were treated rudely as well, and our Rho Chis said that the Greek Life Office was looking into it since so many girls felt excluded and offended by them. I'm glad for girls that had a good experience here, but this chapter is SO not for me.

So I don't have to rank tonight, but if I did it would be really tough. I had an equally good time at all 3 parties that I went to. So I'll base it on my overall experience throughout all of recruitment. Again, they are all really close together in terms of my opinion.

Tomorrow is the second round of house tours at Stargate: SG-1, ANTM, The Tudors, Greek, and Pokemon. Needless to say, I'm really nervous about being invited back now that I was rejected from all the houses tonight. I'm excited though, because hopefully things will turn around and tomorrow will be a better day. Positive energy sent my way would be amazing. :)

I do have one question though (since I have never seen recruitment with this structure): Is it possible for you to not be asked back for house tours, yet still get a preference invitation? Like, does that typically happen (girls get cut yet still get invites to the next round?)

Oh yeah. That happened to many girls that I know, including my Rho Chis. A lot of people drop out of recruitment half way and decide it isn't for them, which would be after the chapters decided who to invite for house tours. It's very plausible that some girls they invited would not be interested in them or drop out of recruitment all together, which leaves room for girls who were passed over to be in for consideration again. All of the Rho Chis I've talked to said everything changes and that just because you're not invited somewhere for house tours doesn't mean they aren't interested or won't consider you for pref. It just means they didn't know enough about you, but at house tours you get much more time and they get to know you better and hopefully change their minds.

Alright, I just got back from day two of house rounds. After what happened last night I was nervous all day, and I started freaking out and hyperventilating when I was waiting to hear who I got invited back to. I don't handle rejection well because I guess I haven't faced it all that much, and last night was just really hard on me. Thankfully I found out that what happened to me last night was a mistake, and that it wasn't because they hated me or because I did anything wrong. Something just got messed up in the system and I didn't show up on their lists, or something. Thinking back, it did seem like the chapters were excited to see me back and that I did feel wanted. I went in with a much better outlook today and I'm so glad I did. SO back to tonight! I got invited to 3 out of 5 parties, but went to 4 out of 5: Stargate: SG-1, ANTM, The Tudors, and Greek. I opted not to go to Pokemon, since I just didn't feel at home at all and I knew I would not attend their pref. or accept a bid. So here's what happened:

Stargate: SG-1: This was the first house I went to tonight. I kind of knew I would be going back, and I wasn't sure how to feel, but once I walked in the door all my bad feelings went away. It was SO amazingly decorated, it looked really nice. Even though I have been to their house many times before, it just blew me away. I got the official tour, which was really nice. I can say that I definitely could see myself going over and hanging out with the girls just whenever and having a fun time. I was actually kind of surprised at how much fun I had here. It made me remember all the great times I had with them at informal last semester and made me remember why I wanted to be a part of their sisterhood in the first place. I would pref. here for sure.
ANTM: This was my second party of the night. I was not invited back to this house, but I felt that I really clicked with the girls and I lined up with their values and philanthropy, so I decided to go back and give it another shot. I felt that the girls I talked to were genuinely excited to see me back. Their house felt very home-y to me for sure. There was one bedroom in particular that I loved! Oddly enough, I ended up getting paired with the girl who lives in that bedroom next. We totally hit it off! She gave me the rest of the tour, and then we settled down in one of the quiet bedrooms and just talked. I pointed out how much I loved their crest, and she said that it was a huge compliment, since it is such a big thing for them. She asked me why I wanted to join a sisterhood, and I gave my honest to goodness answer, which I won't write here. By the end, she was tearing up and trying not to cry. She said that's exactly how she felt and it's the same reason she joined. I really felt like I connected with this girl on the deepest level I have through all of recruitment. My time here was just amazing, all of my reservations about this house are gone. I want to be an ANTM. I'm SO glad I went back, and I think that this could very well be my home :)
The Tudors: This was my last visit of the night, and oh my lord their house is such a far walk from campus! I was paired up with the girl I had on the first night who was kind of awkward. I was really excited to meet her again though, and she gave me a tour of the house. The house itself is pretty plain on the outside but the inside is adorable and full of character! The girl who was shy last time really opened up and we were actually having amazing conversation. At one point we were laughing so hard we could barely breathe, haha. Their theme was probably my favorite of the night, it was so creative, cute, and it made a good use of their letters and colors. I met more actives as well as a few alums! I seem to have a lot in common with these girls. I liked that I felt totally relaxed and not at all nervous with them. It felt a little bit like coming home. One thing that interests me is that they're planning on taking a HUGE pledge class, since they had a lot of seniors graduate last year. I think it would be really awesome to be a part of that. I'm not sure if I line up with their values or anything like that, but I know I had a great time here tonight. I would also be happy preffing here if I didn't get invited to my top choices. I become more impressed with this chapter every time I see them.
Greek: This was my third party of the night, and it was one that I was not invited to. It didn't matter though, I knew I would go back whether I was invited or not because I like it so much! Their house is so cute and cozy, but the walls are ALL white. I grew up in a house like this so it seemed bland, but the way it was decorated made up for it. I could definitely see myself in the house, baking with sisters, having a game night, or just watching a movie! I met so many great girls who I definitely clicked with (or at least we clicked on my end). I just had such a wonderful time here, I don't really have any more to say about it, at the risk of sounding like a broken record. I just know that this could definitely be my home and I would be honored and happy to pref. here :)

So overall, tonight was really fun. Exponentially better than last night. It was hard picking between numbers 3 and 4. They are so close in my opinion. My unofficial rankings for tonight:

So today was really simple. We just went back to have the Greek Life Office tell us where we got invited to pref at! I got several invites, but after some deliberation, I chose to pref at Stargate: SG-1 and The Tudors!! I'm so excited!!! I can't believe I have to wait a whole day (especially since I don't have classes tomorrow) for preference!! In the end, I decided that I felt most at home with those two chapters although there were many others I liked. I know in my heart that I made the right choice, and I think I know where I may end up!!! There are really special things about both that I won't reveal just yet, because I think it would totally give away my identity. I have preference tomorrow night, and Saturday is BID DAY!! I may or may not update about pref tomorrow night. Tell me what you want me to do people!

Thanks everyone!! Preference night was amazing. I really enjoyed both group's ceremonies. I really think my heart is set on Stargate: SG-1! I can't wait for bid day tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes and do the big reveal :)

I just went and signed my bid, and bid day celebrations start in a few hours, but I figured I wouldn't make everyone wait. I'm proud to announce that I'm a new member of Stargate: SG-1...otherwise known as....
