Sorry to hear that. I'm trying to become mentally and physically prepared to sell our family business. I'd go into more about it, but I don't feel like airing the dirty laundry.

Yeah, not getting this promotion that I busted my @$$ for makes me feel real grown. Thanks a lot, adulthood. *pout*

So I didn't feel more adult but at work my co-worker said she would wash all the knives/spreaders/other utensils but referred to them all as things. I thought of the blog and asked, "You're going to wash ALL the things?"

Opened my own bank account (as opposed to my dad being in charge of mine)
Got a full-time job
Got an oil-change on the car
Got an "adult" doctor (I've been going to my pediatrician with my mom... and I'm 22)
Applied for an apartment :)

All in one summer! :D

Having a real life paycheck and being able to go do things with it.

Amen.

I just had a very mature conversation with a man about his divorce and what it would mean for our potentially starting a relationship. No embarrassment or skirting around touchy issues--just open and honest. I feel very adult right now. :)

Here in Dubai we have a SAFEST WAY, so clearly better!;) Actually, it's a little grocery store that sells a lot of American products, but I don't think it has any affiliation with Safeway. I wish it did!

Congratulations and I'm sorry.

What makes me feel like an adult? Going through my budget every month and seeing how the finances are going. ICK! But it is the grown up thing to do to handle it head on.

Check stubs ftw?

Today I made rice krispie treats for the first time without my mom and sister. I also learned that what mom always did (pressing it flat with a spoon or hands) is super messy and not nearly as effective as using a piece of tin foil sprayed with cooking spray. Hurrah for growing up! :D

I love rice krispie treats, but only when they're nice and soft. They can get pretty dangerous when they've been sitting out, like cutting my mouth dangerous...lol

This is going to sound a little silly but:

My volunteer position in Sigma/going to Convention. Attending all the workshops and meeting with collegians who are looking at me as a "grown up" in Sigma and coming to me with questions.

I seriously have to LOL because it seems like just yesterday, I was an active asking the same questions and now someone is asking me the same things. Wow.

LOL I know how that feels. We had our North Texas Regional Summit a few weeks ago (I'm on the regional board) and I was the most senior member there. The rest of the board is Fall 2005 or later. When we did our introductions, I told everyone when I crossed and people started looking at me like I said I was around for the beginning of slavery lol
