Jenn and KSU:
I'm not sure if its ONLY usc or what, but they told us pretty much that if we got 2 preferences, and we ranked them both, that we are guaranteed a bid to one of them (not necessarily your first choice, but one). I'm sorry if I made it seem like they were guaranteeing me a bid to Owl Eyes, they weren't. But I will be in either Owl Eyes or Nick tonight for sure. Do I make sense? But I'd be super happy at either that's why I said I for sure have A home :) And Jordan is an AMAZING chapter, it really came down to minor details when I was ranking them it was so tough! On another note, bid acceptance appointments got pushed back an house...just as I was about to leave ahhhh! SO ANXIOUS |

I had a mini heart attack because I was under the impression that a Rho Chi told you that you were guaranteed a bid to Owl Eyes (not true!) |
SC Panhellenic Policy
This is the bid policy, if there are any questions: A pnm attends two preference parties... The pnm ranks two chapters on her card... The pnm is guaranteed one of those chapters... It may or may not be the chapter the pnm ranked first.... There were many quota additions last year. __________________________________________________ __________ Large numbers of pnms dropped out of recruitment again this year. :( |
JennRN, I'm not exactly why my RC told me that. As they explained it to us, if you have two pref parties and don't suicide, you're guaranteed (and it will most likely be your top choice). If you have one pref party, you're not guaranteed a house (but it's very very likely you'll get it anyways). The stuff in parentheses are unofficial things that the RCs and a Panhellenic person said.
Now as to why my RC told me I'd be guaranteed a bid at my house if I filled out my card, I'm not sure. I'm under the impression that they give bids to everyone who attends all of their parties (everyone who doesn't drop them/isn't in a position to drop them), but I'm not sure if that's true or not. Please don't think that that fact did or did not influence my personal decision. I've explained it many times, it was a personal fit issue that in no way reflects upon the amazing women in that house. And I haven't ultimately said no to them, if I find that I love them and they're still willing to have me, I'd be more than happy to become a part of their house. |
It's the same at Iowa. If you attend every single party you're invited to and rank them all, you are guaranteed a bid at the end!
Can't wait to find out which house you're in! :) |
Just got back from bid night!
So, I'm pretty sure someone requested to know who both my top picks were....they were Alpha Phi and Tri Delt. When I got my bid card, I was very happy to see... MY FIRST CHOICE! So I am now a proud member of Owl Eyes a.k.a... TRI DELTA!!!!!! I am absolutely in love with my sorority already. My pearl is so beautiful and fun and made me feel so welcome! We ran to the row (very tiring), I found her, and we had a dance party as well as a bounce house. Both were so much fun and I met a lot of amazing girls that I'm excited to get to know. The girl who preffed me also found me. I felt so at home and I'm excited for the years to come. THE END! hehe |
Congratulations on TriDelta! You sound elated <<vbg>>
