The fact that to my younger cousins, iPods/mp3 players have always been in existence.

Yeah, what's up with that? I usually write in cursive, and I graduated in 2009. I have one friend (who's 2 years older than me!!) who confessed that he can't read cursive so I have to print for him. I don't have terrible handwriting either. Ugh!

I stopped writing in cursive in high school (in the 70s), as soon as my teachers said I didn't have to anymore. My cursive is horrible.

But FWIW, both of my kids have had to learn cursive in elementary school, so it is still taught.

I felt really modern when I got a Kodak Disc:

I don't remember my first camera, but I definitely had a disposable flash bar.

The only difference was that mine wasn't horizontal. It was VERTICAL, so the camera plus flash ended up being taller than my head! I distinctly remember the smell of the flash bulbs as they burned out.

I feel older when I think about being born in the 1970s and all the history that has passed since that time. But, I don't feel old by any means. I'm still a youngin!

Might not be old in the scheme of things, but being 23 (24 in less than a month) and a college graduate around people who are just turning 21 makes me feel old. Most of my friends my own age went to grad school elsewhere, so only my younger friends are left and it does get old being the mom all the time.

I know, right? I'm glad people who are older than I am started posting!

I do not feel old AT ALL. Why would I? I'm still in my 20s.

I saw ads for the new Hawaii 5-0 tv show. I remember the old Hawaii 5-0 show. Sigh.

I think this qualifies...

One week shy of my 49th birthday, I receive in the mail an AARP card.

During a convo with two coworkers last week...
Coworker 1 (to Coworker 2): "Sometimes you feel like it, sometimes you don't."
Me: "Yeah, and sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't."
Coworker 2: (laughs)
Coworker 1: (WTF look on her face)
Me (to Coworker 1): "You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you..."
Coworker 1: "Nope!"

My baby started high school yesterday.

My middle baby turned 18 today and starts college in a few weeks.

My oldest baby turns 20  on Friday.

You remember the "old" Hawaii 5-0...I remember our first TV with an oval screen...and I watched "Howdy-Doody".

I went into a music store yesterday, and as I was browsing, a twentysomething who worked there asked if I needed help. I explained that I was looking for a Bauhaus CD, so he asked, "Like the school of architecture?"

AlphaFrog 08-27-2010 09:57 AM

We were having a particularly good inning at bat, and I said "Lost Boys, we got 'em on the run!" and a few of the kids* on the softball team had no idea what I was referencing.

*and by "kids" I mean teens & college-age.
