I wondered a little if she even has it. The place we saw her hide it was in her sock/shoe --she doesn't have many other options. That wouldn't be good during a challenge. Did she live it at camp? Do the producers get her stuff from the old camp and move it to the new camp?

Someone please tell me WHY THE HECK they ate a hen when they had a rooster?! The hen will lay eggs...the rooster is just good food!

I'm guessing none of them knew that eggs will keep coming without a rooster, though I would have thought someone on that tribe would know that.
ETA: In his Reality News Online interview, Tyrone says that "some of the ladies" said that a rooster was necessary for egg production, and no one else knew enough about it to say otherwise.
And what exactly did Marty think La Flor should have done about NaOnka battling KellyB for the HII clue? Or did his strategic mind not grasp what not doing anything about it might say about alliances at La Flor?

MysticCat 10-22-2010 10:34 AM

Anyone other than AlphaFrog and me watching? :D

Let me get this straight -- Brenda and her alliance orchestrated a plan to flush or neutralize Marty's idol, and when he doesn't play the idol they vote Kelly out? What were they thinking? Or why weren't they thinking?

Meanwhile, I think I have to take back some of what I said about Jud/Fabio. He is fun to watch, and I still think he may go a long way into the game, but the boy seems to be really gullible. If he's thinking strategically -- beyond being good in challenges and being easy to get along with -- I haven't seen too much of it.

I'm watching, but I'm not on GC as often as I used to be, so I haven't been around much in order to contribute.

Thank you. Hubby and I asked each other the same question. The only thing about it that makes any sense is the potential for Kelly's disability to make her a shoo-in for the winner. But that's assuming she makes it to the final 2 (or is it 3 this season?).

I don't know... I'm just not feeling it this season. It might be the Wednesday night effect, or it could be the original division of old vs. young, or it could be that they're not editing it in a favorable way. But for whatever reason, I'm pretty disappointed in Survivor this time around.

My daughter isn't blogging it due to some troll trauma, and I have to admit that has stolen a great deal of my usual interest.

AGDee 10-22-2010 11:30 PM

I'm watching, although I watched it Thursday and haven't had a chance to share thoughts about it. It was clear that the tribe didn't discuss what to do if there was a tie if Marty didn't play his idol!

Votes went like this the first time:

3 Kelly B
3 Marty
2 Brenda

1 Brenda vote and 1 Marty vote were eliminated. Because Jill had voted for Brenda the 1st time, she switched her vote to Kelly B , which gives you 4 for Kelly B, 2 for Marty. Someone else clearly switched their vote to Kelly B. Who was the lone vote for Marty? I don't remember and the website doesn't give us that info anymore. They were idiots!

I really hope Marty and Jill pull this off and stick around somehow.

AlphaFrog 10-24-2010 01:28 PM

I literally just finished watching. (BUSY, BUSY week).

I don't even have words for the madness that occurred. W.T.F. was Brenda thinking??

I wouldn't mind to see Jill do well, but I really hope Marty goes home soon. He and Nay are my two least favorite players this season.

Oh, and here's my "Survivor's on tonight, not tomorrow night" reminder.

AGDee 10-27-2010 08:47 PM

Thank you for the reminder. I'm a little shocked at what's gone on so far, although TC hasn't happened yet. Someone is more stupid than I thought.

AlphaFrog 10-28-2010 06:04 AM

I would have liked to have seen Jill throw her vote at Marty. I know she didn't know how the numbers would shake out, but it would have made it interesting, since we already know those people are terrible at contingency planning. And it's not like she would have anything to loose - one of them was going to be gone anyway. I think it very well would have been an opportunity for them to get rid of Marty without Sash "breaking his word".

What the heck at us being at the merge next week and I still don't really know everyone's names. I see the Kelly that's still around and I think "Who the hell is that?".

I don't know why, but the sound effects they were using for Jud during the reward challenge were cracking me up! And el oh el about him peeing in the pool. Yeah, gross, but he had a point about the water already being nasty-dirty.

That would have been awesome, but it would have taken Jill and someone else to vote for Marty to keep her in the game -- otherwise, it would have been a tie and Marty probably would have won the tiebreaker.

Meanwhile, I really couldn't believe he gave Sash the idol. Yeah, he was going to lose it either way, but if he had played it, no one else would have had it either.

And what about Sash's slip? Brenda and Jud both seemed a bit taken aback at that.

AlphaFrog 10-28-2010 12:01 PM

Ah, Sash... I don't think they can trust him as far as they can throw him. I think he meant what he said. I also think that if he's going to lie, he needs to get better at it. When Jeff asked if he would hand the idol over, he should have immediately responded in the affirmative (and then he could have thrown in the caveat that there was no reason to at that point). And I'm still convinced that he is gay. Not that means anything other than he was a liar from the start.

 At Nay's behavior on the preview. Not that I expected less, but I hope it backfires big time.

Me too - that is going to be ugly.

Okay, about the Marty non-vote, I don't get it. Was Sash trying to be honorable?

You mean the fact that they voted Jill out instead of Marty, or Sash not voting for Marty?

Per the voting clip at CBS.com, the agreement was that Jill should be the one to go. But it apparently was also decided that Jud and Jane would vote for Marty just in case there was a second hidden immunity idol and Jill had it. Were she to play one, that would result in a tie between Marty and Jane, and Marty would have lost the second vote.

Had it been me, I would have lobbied to take Marty out instead of Jill.

And did anyone notice that at TC, Purple Kelly was wearing Jud's shirt? And speaking of Jud, I now take back what I said last week, when I took back what I said about Jud early in the season. (Follow that?) We did see strategic thinking out of Jud last night -- we even saw Sash asking him what he though the plan should be -- and we also saw that he wasn't as enamored of Marty as last week made it look like he might be. Propst makes an interesting observation in his blog:
Everybody keeps saying Fabio is crazy, or maybe not the sharpest tool – but I wonder how crazy he really is? Is he playing everybody including us? That was my question from day one. I was never sure if his surfer boy responses were 100% genuine or a bit of a character he’s created. I’m guessing a bit of both.
