LMAO.
I picked it up at BB, only to read what it was "about". LMAO. I won't get it. |
Would you believe that BET showed "Tougher Than Leather" starring Run-DMC last night? After about 15-20 minutes of watching that mess, I quickly changed the channel.
|
Comedy Central has been showing CB4 with Chris Rock and Allen Payne this week.
 |

These movies really aren't ghetto, but deserve mention
OK, I finally got the nerve to rent a few of BET's love movies, and here is my 73 cents on the matter:
Committments (2001). Should've been called Black Acres (as in Green Acres). City girl stockbroker meets country boy home improvement guy during a 6 week vacation recuperating from a heart attack in down home North Carolina. She falls in love, quits her job, and moved down South for good. Predictable plot, I know. Only funny part was with the vibrator (she pulls it out of her dresser drawer after an 8 minute "session" with some white guy) only to realize she used up two packs of batteries. Ah, yes, Victoria Dillard--wasn't she one of the bathers in "Coming to America"? Oh, and let's not forget the line she used on Allen Payne and Joe Torry when her "marital aid" fell out her suitcase: "I use it to massage my neck". In true MST3K style, I shouted back, "Only if your name is Deep Throat." Okay movie if you're bored or lonely. Fire and Ice (2001) Congressman's daughter meets talk show host, aka "Arsenio Hall Jr." Again, predictable plot with a few weak twists, nothing special. BTW, I never realized how hot Lark Voorhies really is *Grrrrrrrowl*. Anyways... More to come, maybe.... |
Hey now, CB4 might be odd but I don't consider it ghetto.
I think they had a budget for that film. It's very similar to Fear of a Black Hat. Has anyone ever seen (or heard of) Mala Voodoo? I didn't think so. Now THAT'S Ghetto! |
OMG!

Now Hollywood Video gives you five days on rentals. Y'all, I ran -- not walked -- to HV the very next day and dropped this thing like a lead ball. |
I saw this thread and mentioned it to my boyfriend, since we spend New Year's Eve watching movies. Anyway, we picked up these movies in order of increasing acceptance (they were all pretty bad)
1. Preachin' to the Sistas 2. Chat Room 3. House Party 4 4. Bones The last three have been mentioned already, but please, please, please don't torture yourself by renting Preachin' to the Sistas. This was the WORST movie I have ever seen. It looked like it was recorded with an 8mm camcorder, the people on the DVD cover were not in the movie although they were dressed as characters in the movie, bedsheets were used as curtains (at least they were new, you could see the creases from where it was folded) BAD ACTING! My boyfriend and I did have fun clownin about the movie, though. |
Just Another Girl on the IRT
Has anyone seen this one??? Smart teen, with bad attitude gets pregnant, boyfriend gives her money for an abortion, she goes shopping with the mooney, hides pregnancy, throws the baby in the garbage. Boyfriend retrieves baby. Ends with her carry tue baby to her college. |

Actually, "Preachin to the Sistas" was mentioned....
...albeit under the title "Preacher Playa"

I rented the DVD title not knowing it was a movie I already rented under another title. :o Stupid me. |
