I have a little Lexus IS250. I think the reason I only have to fill up once a month is because I hardly drive now that I'm not hauling around kids. My work is within 5 miles, and I don't venture far beyond the neighborhood to shop, etc. Anywhere that we go that is far, my husband drives. (I'm like some granny, except I'm not in a Cadillac, and I look better in my car ;))
I got the car November, 2008 and I have less than 7,000 miles on it! |
Wow! I got my car in December '08 and I have 25,000 miles on it!

Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that I used to take the train to work, and now I work from home, so I hardly ever drive the poor thing . . . |
I had the opposite problem-went to drive an SUV for a week while my car (3 series BMW) was being repaired and I freaked. I did not like the fact that I couldn't zip in and out of traffic, parking was stressful and I couldn't take corners like I was use to. I like being low to the ground. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with snow.
ETA My car gets pretty good gas mileage-I only fill it up every 3 weeks. |

One year they decided that it was best to trade down to cars because of the fuel. We live on a back road that doesn't get plowed as quickly as the main streets do. Each of them got stuck at least 3 times that winter. At the next opportunity, they got SUVs again. |
Welp, I went with the Escape. I picked it up today. It's an ok car but comparing it to my Edge.... in the words of Lil Kim "I go from first class to coach". I feel like it drives like a truck (which I guess it is). It has NO pick up. It's a 4 cyllander as was my Edge. The steering wheel isn't as tough as my Edge which I like. It'll probably be easier to park. It doesn't have the extra cup holders on the bottom of the front doors like the Edge. I guess we'll have to see.
