Or just darn lucky that the seats on her side of the table were taken!

She was described as "not being able to face reality" and "not being as good as she thought she was." I really hope they don't take her perhaps average craziness and delusions of grandeur and create an insanity defense.

I'm sure any defense counsel worth their salt will look into it, but me thinks given the crime committed combined with her alleged past history it will be tough to convince a jury. She's too heinous to let off easy.

More than likely they were closest to her when she started the shooting. However, as I was not there this is simply conjecture on my part.

My thoughts exactly. Her history has been all over the web the past few days and there's stories galore how she is, for lack of better words, a nutjob.

There are eyewitness accounts all over the web today. According to the people that were in the meeting. She opened fire first to the person next to her, who happened to be the head of the department, then she went person by person down the line of people on her side of the table. The people across from her dove under the table and while she was reloading, they pushed her out and barracaded the door. So, it seems as if it was randomly based on where people were sitting.

Also, interestingly, one person, I think her last name is Marietta or something, I'll try to look it up, is credited with saving everybody. She grabbed the woman's leg and spoke with her trying to talk her down. The woman then turned the gun at her but it was empty. While she was reloading, that woman led the charge to get her out of the room. She was the woman's closest friend in the department, and I believe she was African American (by her picture which is on some of the news websites).

Anyway, all that leaves me to believe that it was coincidence and not racially motivated as to who got shot and in what order.

Here it is:

Woops: Moriarity, I was close... Woops, and not African American, I must have mistaken her picture with one of the victims.

Anyway, tragic and awful for everyone involved!

Didn't know bullets had a color preference...will keep that in mind when one of my Program Reviewers has a breakdown at the next Board meeting ;)

Even more crazy. I smell a Lifetime Movie of the Week in the offing, perhaps starring Laurie Metcalf.

"I AM Dr. Amy Bishop!": Crazy Bitch Professor Delivered Beatdown at IHOP in 2002

Serial Mom: Neighbors Recall Effed-Up Confrontations with Bishop

DrPhil 02-17-2010 12:41 PM

It's all so awesomely convenient to recount crazy bitch altercations and family isolation after she has shot 6 and killed 3.

I put more weight on the IHOP incident than the neighborhood tales. Neighborhoods are filled with all sorts of silly dynamics and people's recollections and descriptions will always be exaggerated if you say "we want to speak with you about your former neighbor Amy Bishop who allegedly shot and killed 3 colleagues."

ETA:
1) Dr. Moriarity was on the news. Does she have to be the one speaking about this?
2) Bishop is currently on suicide watch. She's most likely a crazy bitch (whether she has a diagnosable mental and emotional illness remains to be seen) and a cowardly bitch who would try to escape by killing herself.
3) If the crazy bitch doesn't off herself, I hope insanity pleas are shot down (pun intended) and she gets life in prison. The death penalty is too quick of an escape for her.

Ghostwriter 02-17-2010 02:09 PM

Why don't we just let her kill herself and save a crap load of $$$ on incarceration? Heck I will slip her a rope.

Bishop once stopped a local ice cream truck from coming into their neighborhood. According to WBZ-1030 radio, she said it because her own kids were lactose intolerant, and she didn't think it was fair that her kids couldn't have ice cream.

"That's who it was!" Lafoe said. "When we were younger the ice cream truck just stopped coming around. That's strange."
I have also heard from a few different sources that the police were called to their house for several domestic disputes. It just keeps getting more and more ridiculous.

I want her to live long enough to go ratshit on the witness stand.

I am pretty sure she won't testify.

christiangirl 02-18-2010 07:08 PM

I just found out one of the people who died (ETA: It was Adriel Johnson) is a cousin of one of my church members. :( We always say "Pray for the families" but this is a little more personal. My heart goes out to them.

Ugh. Just what I was afraid of.
She claims she doesn't remember shooting anyone.

Bullshit.

Does she remember taking a gun to school with her that day?

Right, who the hell just happens to have a gun with them on such an occasion. That fact, alone, should negate the insanity plea. There's a premeditated element to it. At least, that's what I would think.

Yeah aren't firearms illegal in most schools?
