"Another day has almost come and gone
Can’t imagine what else could wrong Sometimes I’d like to hide away somewhere and lock the door A single battle lost but not the war 'Cause tomorrow’s another day And I’m thirsty anyway So bring on the rain It’s almost like the hard times circle ‘round A couple drops and they all start coming down Yeah, I might feel defeated, I might hang my head I might be barely breathing - but I’m not dead Tomorrow’s another day And I’m thirsty anyway So bring on the rain I’m not gonna let it get me down I’m not gonna cry And I’m not gonna lose any sleep tonight 'Cause tomorrow's another day And I am not afraid So bring on the rain" --Jo Dee Messina "Bring on the Rain" "F*ck it, fight it, it's all the same" --Sublime "So get in where you fit in Go on and shine Free your mind Now's the time to put your salt on the shelf Go on and love yourself 'Cause everything is gonna be all right" --India Arie "Video" (We had this quote on our Fall 2001 Bid Day shirts :)) I'd think of more, but I have to go to class! |

time to fill the page...
Time: by Pink Floyd (excerpts)
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then the one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older And shorter of breath and one day closer to death Subdivisions: by Rush (excerpts) Sprawling on the fringes of the city In geometric order An insulated border In between the bright lights And the far unlit unknown Growing up it all seems so one-sided Opinions all provided The future pre-decided Detached and subdivided In the mass production zone Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone Subdivisions ‹ In the high school halls In the shopping malls Conform or be cast out Subdivisions ‹ In the basement bars In the backs of cars Be cool or be cast out Any escape might help to smooth The unattractive truth But the suburbs have no charms to soothe The restless dreams of youth Hello Goodbye: The Beatles (excerpt) You say yes I say no You say stop and I say go go go Oh no You say goodbye and I say hello hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello Draggin' the line: Tommy James an the Shondells Makin' a livin' the old hard way Takin' and givin' by day by day I dig snow and rain and the bright sunshine Draggin' The Line These aren't all my favs, just a few :-) |

xok85xo, I share your love of BNL! I think they are the best band ever! I've seen them in concert 5 times and they always come up with something new. Here are a few of my favorite BNL lyrics:
"What did you think I was going to do, curl up and die just because of you? I'm not that weak, you know. What did you think I was going to do, try to make you love as much as I love you? How could you be so low? You arrogant man, what do you think that I am? My heart will be fine, just stop wasting my time!" -Break Your Heart "I think it's getting to the point where I can be myself again I think it's getting to the point where we have almost made amends I think it's the getting to the point that is the hardest part" -Call and Answer "I'm not trying to sing a love song--I'm trying to sing in tune I know I am sometimes headstrong Falling in love, catching fire---I want to be consumed Wondering will I ever tire, will I ever tire?" -These Apples "I'm so smart, too bad I can't get anything figured out" -Falling for the First Time "A is what Fonzie said, 'cause he was very cool" -A I could go on forever...they are the absolute best! :D |
Pearl Jam's Immortality. Many say that it was written about Kurt Cobain's death but I think that some of the lyrics can pertain to anyone's life:
Vacate is the word Vengence has no place he swears to her Cannot find the comfort in this world Artificial tears, vessel stabbed "Next up volunteers"... Vulnerable, wisdom can't adhere A truant finds home, and a wish to hold on But there's a trapdoor in the sun Immortality As priveledged as a whore Victims in demand for public show Swept out through the cracks beneath the door Holier than how. How? Surrendered, executed anyhow. Scrawl dissolved, cigar box on the floor. A truant finds home, and a wish a to hold on to He saw a trap door in the sun Immortality Cannot stop the thought running in the dark Coming up a which way sign All good truants must decide Oh, stripped and sold mom Auctioned forearm And whiskers in the sink Truants move on, cannot stay long Some die just to live.... Then, Pearl Jam's Betterman which I think many girls out there can relate to. ;) Waiting....watching the clock it's 4 o'clock It's got to stop Tell him. Take no more. She practices her speech as he opens the door. She rolls over, pretends to sleep as he looks her over. She lies and says she's in love with him. Can't find a betterman. She dreams in color, she dreams in red. Can't find a betterman.... Talking to herself, "there's no one else so he's the one" She tells herself Memories back when she was bold and strong And waiting for the world to come along Swears she knew it now she swears he's gone She's lies and says she's in love with him Can't find a betterman She dreams in color, she dreams in red Can't find a betterman.... She loved him, she don't want to leave this way She feeds him, that's why she'll be back again Can't find a betterman.... |

Who originally sang the song "Just a Friend" Remember that guy with the miserable voice that just made the song perfect? What's his name? |

Wonderful Tonight
by Eric Clapton It's late in the evening; she's wondering what clothes to wear. She puts on her make-up and brushes her long blonde hair. And then she asks me, "Do I look all right?" And I say, "Yes, you look wonderful tonight." We go to a party and everyone turns to see This beautiful lady that's walking around with me. And then she asks me, "Do you feel all right?" And I say, "Yes, I feel wonderful tonight." I feel wonderful because I see The love light in your eyes. And the wonder of it all Is that you just don't realize how much I love you. It's time to go home now and I've got an aching head, So I give her the car keys and she helps me to bed. And then I tell her, as I turn out the light, I say, "My darling, you were wonderful tonight. Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight." I love this song! |
"You kick my foot under the table,
I kick you back, can't say I'm able To stand for you, or fall for you Ever again. Wish for a perfect setting? Wishing that I'm letting you Take me where you want me All over again You can't give yourself Absolutely to someone else." - Do You Sleep? - Lisa Loeb "Hey, don't write yourself off yet It's only in your head You feel left out or Looked down on Just try your best Try everything you can And don't you worry What they tell themselves When you're away" - The Middle - Jimmy Eat World |
