Yes, exactly- that is one of the comments that made me question it. Not that they can't figure it out from a) being on the Villains tribe and b) Jeff pointing him out as one of the 10 most notorious villains (which theoretically all 10 are, but it seemed to be more pronounced the way he pointed it out to Russell), but it seemed like they knew something about him.

Right. I can't put my finger on it, but it seemed to be more than a, "Oh, he's on my team, he must be evil" kind of thing. If everyone looked at it that way, none of the villians would want to make alliances with each other.

They are sequestered. I don't like him less for that. If he does well, that money could put that child through college. People have jobs that require them to be away from their families all the time.. salesmen, military, etc. It would be a lot harder for the kid to have dad go away when she's older.

See i would agree with that if not for the fact that his wife won a million dollars what 7 years ago. And also if it was a job, I would understand. But this is a game show, and he only had a 1 in 20 chance of winning the million dollars.

But surely they have some sort of compensation for appearing on the show-and just think how it could boost his ability to demand more money for personal appearances, so it is part of the job. I think I would rather have my hubby be gone for a month or two with a 4 month old (or however old their daughter is) versus, say, when a kid is in 6th grade, or as a teenager. And a million bucks, less taxes, and 7 years ago-it goes pretty quickly.

Yes, the amounts haven't been published in a while, but for the first few seasons, the first person voted out received $10K and it went up incrementally from there. Third place ends up around $80K I think, and the runner up gets $150K. Not bad for 39 days of work.

You know something I just though up that would be funny? They should have jeff actually compete on a season.

Finally watched it yesterday. Thought the villainous and hero music was way too cheesy, even for survivor. Other than that, I'm hooked again even though I also haven't watched in a few seasons.

No kidding Jen! Last season, I didn't know who anyone was on the "other Russell"'s team!! They hardly got any air time at all!!

Ditto. And a lot of them are people I really like too :) I love Colby, love James, love Stephanie, love Tom Westman.

Meanwhile, apparently Sugar is tweeting about, um, getting to know J.T.

I am SOOO glad Amanda didn't go home last night. It would be sad if she lost her record for "most days spent on Survivor". I don't know how they get off calling her weak, though, because I think she won a bunch of individual challenges on BOTH of her previous seasons, right?

SydneyK 02-19-2010 09:20 AM

I've been disappointed in both Rupert and James so far this season. I like (well, at this point I guess I should say liked) the Steph/Tom/Colby alliance much more than the James/JT/Rupert alliance. Hopefully, Tom and Colby will be able to convince Cirie and the girl whose name escapes me over to their side. Doubtful, though, after seeing last night's tribal. It'll be interesting to see what happens next...

thetygerlily 02-19-2010 01:18 PM

I too was glad Amanda didn't go home last night. DH & I were really confused about how she was the weak one. I agree that Sugar was probably the weakest last time, but now? I'd lean more toward Cirie- or even James. James is brute force but not a lot else. And he showed his propensity toward bullying last night, which was disappointing. [ETA: by weak I mean not bringing a lot to the table in challenges]

Tom's demeanor impressed me- I didn't really care for him either way in Palau but like him here. I wouldn't mind seeing Candace get further... if for no other reason than so we know who she is and what she can do!

Oh, on the Villains side- I'm glad Boston Rob didn't go home. Yes, he can be annoying and so can his accent. But he's proven himself to be rational & have strong leadership over there. Although if he did go home, I'm pretty sure they would fall apart. It'd be interesting to see who the Villains sent home. Hopefully they'll lose next week to satisfy my curiosity.

CutiePie2000 02-19-2010 01:47 PM

I'm finding Rupert to be kind of annoying this season. Maybe he's getting a bad edit, but that's just my take on it.
