And like clockwork the BMW broke down and is in the shop again (breaks down every 8 months on the dot). Another 2000$ yea!!! Tha Camaro is looking real good right now.
I would stay away from both.

That's interesting - we've never had problems with our BMWs. They have run great with minimal maintenance, no breakdown issues.

Sorry for not posting for a while. Thanks for everyone's input on this. I decided to keep my vehicle until it could go no longer and back in February I bit the bullet and got a new 2011 BMW 3 Series sedan with all the bells and whistles. It's been a great car so far.

Good choice Boodleboy, if anything were to happen to my Land Rover the BMW 3 series would be on the top of the list of cars I'd look at. I do have a love affair with Mustangs though. I almost bought one, but was screwed around with by the dealer and I ended up leasing a VW GTI instead. Now whenever I have to rent a car I always rent a 'stang... It kinda scratches that itch for me... A little. The Hertz 6 cylander autos are a little weak. If I were to buy one it would of course be a V8 GT manual transmission.

I'm soooo in love with Mustangs.... Black 2004 GT convertible with tan leather interior... yes pleeeease! Except: Black cars in Florida, no bueno. Even if it's a convertible. Also nowhere to put my surfboard :(

I currently have a 2002 BMW X5 and my dad just bought a 2009 750 Li and that thing is the most ridiculous piece of engineering I've ever seen... I'm scared to get too close to it. But I love my X5. It's got just enough bells and whistles and it's very reliable and safe.

But to have a mustang... siiiiiigh

I went out and test drove a 2011 Mustang GT (V-8 engine) when I was shopping and I loved the power. The new options inside were awesome as well. Although the comfort on the driver's seat has improved with the new models it was still a little uncomfortable and after sitting behind the BMW it made sense to me. It also took me a while to warm up to the new rear end lights on the Mustang. I didn't like the shape at first but started to appreciate it a little more after I drove one.

Congrats on your new BMW. Still driving mine, it has not been in the shop for anything serious in almost 1 year-woohoo!! Needs a good wash though. I find myself staring at the camaro convertibles-someday....
