I think it's neat that Bama and Auburn do what they do, but I'm not sure that everyone else needs to do it that way.

And certainly, when you get involved at Kappa or however you intend to channel your greek energies at Ole Miss, you can make some awesome improvements.

I've got a TWO happy Recommendation NM's! A new Kappa Kappa Gamma!!! She had a great recruitment, full party lists and is THRILLED to be a KKG!
AND-------
A new Alpha Omicron Pi!!! She is sooooo happy and so are we! (me and my dear AOPi friend!)

I had two recs that ended up DG! I'm THRILLED! There aren't many DG's from my home town! So to get TWO in one year was BEYOND exciting!! My cousin ended up pledge DDD! I'm pretty sure it was her first choice! I'm thrilled for them all!!

Here is the DMs website...Ole Miss Greek Life does not publish the names or numbers on their website like some other SEC schools do (i.e. Bama, Auburn). So the ads in the DM will be your best bet.

So I'm happy the majority of my rec girls pledged!

I have heard through the grapevine that my rec girl got her third choice, and is struggling with that outcome. :(
I am hoping she calls so we can talk about it, but for now am leaving her alone.

Sorry to hear that she's disappointed, gee_ess. Having lived in the South, I know that many girls head to Ole Miss with strong expectations and family culture directed for certain houses. So it is hard, to be sure.

But really, at Ole Miss, all of the chapters are outstanding...she will hopefully work through the disappointment and be proud that she was invited to be a part of such a special system, third choice notwithstanding. I have had a few like this over the years, and have usually sent a nice note right away, to share how much my own house eventually meant to me, notwithstanding my initial apprehension after my close friend chose another house. I agree they need room to breathe and figure things out for themselves.
