Meant advice from ANYONE WHO HAS RUSHED. What pre-requisites helped them in the process? Did they get a bid yet not join? (i.e,: "weren't a part of one") Seriously. I'm not trying to sound snooty at all, just from previous browsing of the GC forums I see that newbies are the targets of jokes/rude comments (much like I am getting now!) And I just wanted to set a straight forward question while trying not to get the rude, idiotic comments directed to me being associated as a newbie.

For those of you who have left nice comments, thank you. I appreciate your .2 cents.

& for those of you who don't, I don't really care.

Thanks.

Ps: By me saying that "I have a life" I'm not implying that all of you don't have lives by being associated with the GC posts/threads. From some of the comments that I have received have been directed to me being dumb and that I need to read the forums. I meant by saying "I have a life" by meaning that I don't have all day to devour the hundreds of threads on this board.

Oh, thanks tld221.

I rarely re-read original posts.

Wow, I never really paid attention to that post script.. lol

My advice? Read my signature.

I do mean this in this nicest way possible: No one will care what is on your resume if you can't spell basic words.

When I first read the original post, I thought, "Who is it that has the signature discussing "a part" and "apart"? :p

If you only read one thread, the General Advice thread is very comprehensive and informative. Check it out, and if you have more specific questions, ask away. It's the "general advice" people come looking for compiled by adpiucf into one thread, and it even has a labeled sections so you can find what you are looking for. Pretend like you asked the question on that thread and adpiucf answered you on that thread. Viola, your general advice.

You don't need "all day" to read the hundreds of threads. No one is insinuating that you read "hundreds" of threads. The general advice thread is one of the "stickies" on the Sorority Recruitment forum. The stickies are called such because they are important, so if you're feeling ambitious, read the other 3 stickies. No one said you have to read everything in one day, especially when you have more than 730 days until you go through recruitment. I'm sure even the busiest girl could find time between now and then.

Agreed.

Also, anytime I start a new thread to ask a question, I make it a point not to get my panties in a wad if someone posts a link to other threads in which that particular issue has already been discussed.

I'm so confused. Isn't there a lovespinkxo who is fairly new too? We need a greater diversity of usernames like "PuceIsTheShiznit" and such.

To the OP: get involved in activities you really like, not just with an eye towards what will look best on your resume. In other words don't tailor everything you do towards an SEC rush. Things might change a LOT by the time you get to college and you might not get accepted by an SEC school, or you might find an Ivy League school you love, or you might get knocked up and not even go to college. My point is do things you really want to do in HS, as well as keeping your grades up.

Oh and don't use the term frat. Many find it offensive.

Out of all the new PNMs posting here, we have:

PinkPalmTree
foreverinpink

We also have lovespink88 (AZD at Illinois).

So I can see where it gets confusing.
