FWIW, I don't remember ever being able to guess a school before this thread, and refuse to play sleuth (frankly, I rarely have the time). If I was able to figure it out, I'd say almost anyone can.

I didn't even pick up on that. However, now that you mention it, a fashion merchandising major would indicate that Penn is not likely. |

My theory: Eaglesbaby took some time off and picked and researched an actual school to set her fiction in because the biggest flaw in her original story was that no one could identify the school and it had an undetermined number of locals that may or may not have participated in formal recruitment. But hey, I may have taken the conspiracy bandwagon for too many loops around the liberty bell... |

I agree that there are certainly many similarities that can arouse suspicion here. However, one key difference is that the OP for this thread did actually join last December. Not saying that that is near enough to refute the suspicion, just pointing out a small difference.
I did express shock early on in this thread about her behavior in one of the houses. One thing GC has taught me is that my personal experience with Greek Life does not translate to everyone else's. So my question: Are there any campuses, and specifically the one the poster is referring to in this thread, for which the scenario that she paints about not being with an active during a party, and FOOD being served during Round 1 are plausable? That is absolutely *not* the way it is done at any school I am familiar with, but then again, like I said, I have learned that there is plenty of variation from campus to campus. |

I'm suspect of some of these stories myself, however just to point out, there are several retros from years back that color code their GLOs (I've been re-reading a bunch of old stories to avoid homework for my summer class) and several GLOs on campus do tend to attract different stereotypes of people. Also, every school's recruitment and chapters are different. When reading recruitment stories, there are many things that are similar and bring back mostly good memories (okay and a few that I'd like to forget) and then there are other times when I have no clue exactly what is going on. Unless we're from the school in the story, we can't completely say we know exactly what goes on there. I'm defending anyone or anything, I'm just pointing a few things out. And Blondie93, when I went through recruitment, during the 1st round one of the houses did have food for us. I think it was just cookies though, but I definitely remember there being food. |

I don't know about the food thing, but I imagine it would be possible for some pnms to drift away from actives if they were being double or triple rushed by a chapter struggling with numbers. It is really curious that neither of these philly girls has been back to continue their stories or explain/defend themselves. |

There is definitely some smoke here. Nothing proven, but definitely smoke. |

Darn it, now I'll never be able to tell my Philadelphia-area rush story, but it could all fit in one post on the Weird Rush Stories thread, its real home.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure things out like schools, groups, whatever. People posting threads need to use discretion (i.e. not put info that can identify them, their school, whatever). I think it's awful that the OP thinks she can talk shizz about any chapters the way she did. It is just a common theme in the same old "retro" threads because they want to be "brutally honest" (You have NO idea how run down that phrase is around here!). They think since it's over they can be classless and say rude things because they already have a membership to some other chapter. |
