LOL

I think they should name the new dog "Hope" - that way President Obama can always say that "he brought Hope to the White House"

The the dog would be about him and not his children. I am hoping for a name like Fido.

This may sound weird, but I don't think you can name a dog until he's in your hot little hands.

My vote is for a golden doodle or a labradoodle due to allergies. I think a great name would be Martin since Obama would not be where he is today without his forebears sacrifices.

OK, I thought that poodles did not shed because they have hair (like people) as opposed to fur which is why you have to take them to be groomed (the hair keeps growing like a human's).

That is what I was always told. I had a poodle from the ages of 6 until I was almost 18. I do know the hair was always softer compared to other dogs, but I do know that my poodle used to shed, although it was very little.

I was also told that chihuahua's have hair like people as well, but shoot my 3 year old Chihuahua sheds more than any cat I know.

a golden retriever or a golden doodle.

perhaps the allergy is histimic, so that if the dog is kept out of her bedroom, she takes her allergy meds. and the cleaning crew keeps everything clean and vacumned, she will do fine. both my kids are allergic to dogs, in the manner i described-their allergist recommended those steps-of course, i was the cleaning crew- and they were fine with an indoor dog.
