^^ Keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.
|
I would greatly appreciate any prayers for an old classmate, who I will just call D.
D and I went to grade school from K-8. He was a quiet kid, but really sweet and a really funny sense of humor. He wasn't one of my closest friends but we would chat at school and had some little inside jokes between us. I could always count on him for a laugh. He was a really nice guy and I know all my former classmates would have nothing but nice things to say about him. I remember that a few times throughout school he'd be in the hospital for weeks at a time. I knew he had some sort of chronic illness, but I was young and really didn't know what it was and didn't want to ask. As I got older I come to find out he has cystic fibrosis. I don't think I have seen him for over 10 years now, but thanks to being Facebook friends, I have found out that he is currently in the hospital again. Apparently he's been in and out since November and has not been responding to meds like he normally does. He has now been bumped to the top of the transplant list in his area for a double lung transplant. They got the call that they had lungs on Monday, prepped him for surgery and at the very last minute (like literally, very last minute from what I understand based on the blog his gf made for him) they called it off. They checked the lungs again and felt they were not up to par. :/ So he still waits at the top of the list. I would appreciate any prayers for him, that he receives new, healthy lungs very soon! |
Great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! D got his new lungs!!!!! He is in recovery--apparently the next 48 are crucial, so more prayers are welcomed!
Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers! |
Wonderful news, lovespink88! I'll continue to send prayers and good thoughts.

The job has "rolled over" - not filled. Scuttlebutt is they wanted a specific race - a race which is actually part of my ethnic heritage. I am totally devastated.
The good news is my thyroid biopsy came back negative. |

Prayers for my aunt (who had a stroke) and my cousin (who had a biopsy, results not yet in). However, she now has so many cysts in her legs that she can't walk--the biopsy is just a formality, he doctors are pretty sure that it's cancer and it doesn't look good. :( |
The mother of one of my closest friends from grad school died last night. Also earlier this week, the great grandmother of my nephews and nieces died as well. My nephews and nieces are heartbroken as they were all close to her. Any prayers for my family and my friend's family would be much appreciated.

My thoughts and prayers for all of you going through a tough time.
And now it's my turn. My mother has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. The five-year survival rate is 38% if they catch it early and operate (and the surgery is not easy). If it's metastasized, that rate goes down to 3% - THREE PERCENT - with most patients dying within a year of being diagnosed. I just got off the phone with my father. He is urging me to visit for my mother's birthday next month. He said, and I quote, "It's probably going to be her last." They're doing the "stiff upper lip" thing, but I can tell each of them is a wreck. I have to be the strong one. (I'm their only child.) But I'm still in "oh shit, my mother has cancer and is going to die soon" mode. |
