All four chapters will be participating, including the newly installed chapter of Pi Beta Phi. Quota obviously hasn't been set yet, but with the addition of a new chapter since last year it will probably go back down to somewhere in the low 40s. Quota last year was 52.

We just had our first day of recruitment and I can't sleep because of all of the excitement! We saw about 200 girls -- pretty average for Hopkins. Every girl I met was just so sweet; I can tell already we're going to have a really wonderful pledge class come Thursday!

Excerpt:

Chi Omega added 40 new members this semester, while Alpha Phi added 41 members. Alpha Omicron Pi (AOPi) has a slightly smaller new class at 24 students, Director of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs Tanya McGinn Paolo said.

Seriously, does she think that adding the "slightly smaller" will make people not notice that we have a pledge class about half the size of others. There's really no way to hide that, but thanks for trying, I guess. Hopefully the chapter can bring in some more members through COB.

Phi Mu, Case Western Reserve - 25 new members

The Crimson reports on recruitment results:

http://www.thecrimson.com/article/20...rority-number/

Kappa extended bids to 57 women, according to He. Theta offered spots to 55 women, according to Kappa Alpha Theta President Ellis A. Bowen ’12.
Delta Gamma president Caroline T. Quazzo ’12 said that the sorority did not have final numbers on the number of new members, but several women who accepted bids from DG said that the sorority offered spots to approximately 60 women.

And an editorial:

http://www.thecrimson.com/article/20...rority-social/

OK, that editorial is even more ridiculous than the one where they couldn't get their terminology straight - even though they seem to still be doing that, as they think an "only a week" rush is ever so short (lots of schools finish in 4 days, moron) and they seem to still be under the delusion that pledge programs go on for an entire semester. That hasn't been true for oh, 15+ years??

I guess I didn't understand where sororities (that aren't even recognized) are supposed to fix the ills of the entire school.

Lehigh University, Zeta Tau Alpha Colony (will be the Lambda Zeta chapter)

Welcomed 120 women tonight at Bid Night. This puts them just above avg chapter size of 100. An amazing recruitment effort!

Hopefully we will do just as well next week at Penn!

ADPi: 16 (3 quota additions)
AXiD: 8

It was a weird recruitment with strange final numbers and fewer girls than average signing up for recruitment, but a great group of girls nonetheless!
