My bottom 3 are Scott, Anthony, and Anwar... with Scott going home. |
wow Nikko went home so Anthony could be incredibly boring...
nobody was outstanding tonight....... |
Y'all must be some messed up folks tonight if you thought Constannoying was good -- OMG
Mr AXO was like "Wayne & Garth should kick his butt" - LOL! Vonzell is awesome - she looked great & sounded great! I tried to vote for her (& Bo) but the lines were busy. Seriously - someone needs to lock up Constannoying - he is like a spooky child molester (let's change his name to Chester, Chester - Child Molester) that your mom always warned you about. Scott - eh... (Hall & Oates are hella old by the way) Carrie - flashbacks of goat-girl from season 2 in some notes Anwar - eh... Harry Potter/Clay 2.5 -- seriously people -- do you NOT see that he is getting fat?! Song sucked as does he...please go home! Bo - he is my idol - what a great job he did (oh, I should mention as the flames come flying by my head, that I do not really care for Freebird - but his version was good IMNHO). Nadia - eh... I really like her, but that song choice was not good. She looked really Beyonce' like tonight though - very cute. |
Being on the west coast our show just ended.
Nadia- thought her song kind of sucked. I just didn't like it. I also didn't agree with Paula's comments about her clothes, when she came on the stage I was thinking "what the hell is she wearing?" Bo- Honestly I really don't see the intrigue in him. I really don't. He is good though. His song made me think of Forrest Gump (Jenny was thinking about jumping when the song Freebird played). Anwar- I love his voice but the song honestly sucked. Didn't suit his voice in my opinion. Anthony- Love the song. He wasn't half bad, did a decent job. Had some problems when the song went acapella, his notes were all over the place. Obviously he isn't one who can do sudden acapella very well. Vonzell- LOVED THE SONG!!!!! She did an awesome job. I loved how she got the audience involved. Scott- Yeah he sucked. His opening notes were flat, he got the chorus, but that was about it. And lets face it most people can "get" the chorus of the song, that is no real big accomplishment. Carrie- Still my favorite. I love her as a singer. I love the song Love is a Battlefied. Great 80's song!!!! I thought she did an amazing job with the song. Constantine- I have to say that I think he did an amazing job tonight. I think he is actually quite good. I think the bottom three will be Nadia, Scott and Anwar. I think it though in the end Scott will be the one who gets the boot. |
My mom and I still like Bo.
When I heard that Constantine was going to do "Bohemian Rhapsody," I thought, "Oh, my goodness, that boy is committing American Idol suicide"...but he was pretty good! Impressed me, at any rate. What's so wrong with him, anyway? I think Carrie really sounds like Pat Benatar, so she picked a good song. She's my second favorite. I just wish Scott would go away already. Geez. By the way, I thought Paula looked so cute tonight! I'm loving the sequin top...I could definitely see that in my closet. |
Nadia- She's not doing so hot lately. I loved her so much for a while, and so much less now.
Bo- I like him more than Constantine, but I don't see him as "idol" material. I expected to be more wowed tonight, but wasn't. Anwar- Beautiful voice, but just boring.. Anthony- Def better than last week, but overall he just doesn't impress me. Vonzell- She was too cute! She literally gets better every week. I'm thoroughly enjoying her. Scott- He can go home already. Carrie- Still my favorite. I just love her. The song was fun. It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed her nonetheless. Constantine- Okay so while he didn't massacre the song, he just annoys me like no other. If he makes the finals, I'll officially quit watching the show forever. |
I have no doubt that Fox and the producers of the show and the people at 19E (is that the company?) want Constantine to win this competition......G-d help us all....i'm sorry I think he sucked, maybe b/c I couldn't get over him attempting to sing a Queen song....FREDDY MERCURY FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
I think Vonzell, Carrie and Bo did great jobs, and I like Anwar. Nadia needs to step it up, her performance was forgettable, but it is not easy to be the first up and I like how she shows versatility. |
Random but they had the results party for Anthony Federov at the restaurant where I work last week and Fox was there interviewing everyone. They had a bunch of us go outside to scream for him live on the show and it was funny because everyone in the crowd was like "i dunno who this kid is, but whatever, i'll be on TV!"

I'll recap later cuz I'm tired, but while on the subject of Carrie, anyone else think she looked like one of those dancing Santas that they sell during the holidays that just sorta rock back and forth in a robotic fashion? I mean Carrie has a good voice for country and all and I could totally see her having a great radio career... but she's just kinda boring when it comes to stage presence. She's a pretty face... and voice... but eh. Oh... watching this show with a group of people is fun. One friend is a music major. According to her, the word "pitchy," the word that so frequents Randy's reviews, actually means nothing. You are either on pitch, sharp or flat. Telling a singer that he/she is pitchy REALLY doesn't help any in terms of review. But who said Randy was helpful anyway. |
My two cents
Nadia - Song choice was horrible, plus I don't like her so I'm glad she did poorly
Bo - While it was okay, I think FreeBird is all about the music and the guitar...I don't think you can do it justice in the AI format Anwar - Better, but still sleep-worthy Anthony - Good song choice, better than he's been in weeks Scott - Go home already! Back talking Simon with an "I think I'm great" remark is a ticket to the bottom three Vonzell - I love Vonzell, but I didn't think this was a great vocal performance...I did enjoy it though, I was entertained Carrie - I love this song so I loved it regardless of the off notes. I give her credit for listening to the judges and trying something new. Constantine - Excellent (and gutsy) song choice; he's getting better and better each week Bottom Three Prediction - Nadia, Scott, and Anwar Going Home Predicition - Scott |
As always, I'm the odd man out here:
Nadia: I loved her, I love that song, always have. It's hard for me to rip on song choice because I honestly can't think of any song from 1973 that fit her very well. I wish we could see the list of songs they get to pick from. Her dress was very 1973. I think she was just dressing for the time period. Bo: I loved him too. Great version of Freebird. Anwar: It seems like he keeps doing the same song over and over. I don't remember now what he sang, so I guess it was forgettable. Anthony: I thought he did alright last night but today on the radio they replayed bits of each performance and I figured out that during the chorus, they had background singers boosting him up a bit. They played the original version right after and Paul Young was going solo there... no backup singers. hmmmm Scott: For most of that song he was off key and flat. I couldn't believe Hall & Oates gave him the thumbs up! (By the way, Hall & Oates were the first concert I ever went to!). Vonzell: I like her and I think she's getting better all the time, but that song wasn't very tough either. I dunno, she was OK, but not great. I can think of other songs from that year that would have been better. Carrie: I thought she did a great job with that song. She showed that she can sing more than slow country songs. I thought she should have dressed the part.. leather pants, head band, etc. Constantine: I love him! He did a great job with what may be one of the hardest songs ever sung. There's a local bar band that rocks with that song and he rivaled them. I love Queen! Those born in the 80's had a HUGE advantage over those born in the early 70's because the songs to pick from are so much better! (Then again, I was in high school/college in the 80's and just love the 80's!). I'm sad nobody sang any Journey. Perhaps they didn't give the rights for that. Dee |

Wouldn't that make her 31 or 32 depending on her birth month? I thought 28 was the cutoff for auditioning... I didn't watch the show last night so maybe I'm just confused, but I thought someone said the theme was year you were born? |
I must have heard them say the year wrong. You're right, that would make her too old. I believe she's 29 (was 28 at the audition) so she'd be looking at 1975 or 76. Still, not a great time in the music world from what I recall... I'll have to look songs from those years up!
ETA: Website says that she is 28 so she was probably born in 1977. Here is a list of #1 songs from that year. I about died laughing remembering some of them... (like Undercover Angel, Don't Give Up On Us, and You Light Up My Life.. LOLOLOL). Those were pathetic times, musically. She probably could have done a good job with Don't Leave Me This Way, or maybe Torn Between Two Lovers (although that song goes really really high) #1 Songs of 1977 Best of My Love - The Emotions Blinded by the Light - Manfred Mann's Earth Band Car Wash - Rose Royce Da Doo Ron Ron - Shaun Cassidy Dancing Queen - Abba Don't Give Up On Us - David Soul Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston Dreams - Fleetwood Mac Gonna Fly Now (Theme from "Rocky") - Bill Conti & His Orchestra (instrumental) Got to Give It Up (Part 1) - Marvin Gaye Hotel California - The Eagles How Deep Is Your Love - The Bee Gees I Just Want to Be Your Everything - Andy Gibb I'm Your Boogie Man - KC & The Sunshine Band I Wish - Stevie Wonder Looks Like We Made It - Barry Manilow Love Theme from "A Star Is Born" (Evergreen) - Barbra Streisand New Kid in Town - The Eagles Rich Girl - Daryl Hall & John Oates Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder Southern Nights - Glen Campbell Star Wars Theme / Cantina Band - Meco (instrumental) Torn Between Two Lovers - Mary MacGregor Undercover Angel - Alan O'Day When I Need You - Leo Sayer You Don't Have to Be a Star (to Be in My Show) - Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. You Light Up My Life - Debby Boone You Make Me Feel Like Dancing - Leo Sayer |
My reviews, because I'm awake now.
Nadia - I missed. I taped it but haven't watched the beginning yet. But from the recap... girl's got legs and that dress definitely let everyone know that. Moving on... Bo - I also thought of Forrest Gump when that song played. Curious song to use for American Idol. Boyfriend was surprised that they used "real music" in AI for a change... but it wasn't the same. Bo did what he could with it. And the cheesy bird in the background was unnecessary. Anwar - Great technical singer... he's just boring. Friend of mine thought he was wearing girl pants. Anthony - Better than last week. But I think my friend put it best when he sings with the maturity of a 15 year old. Diet Clay for sure... except this is no where near the original. Vonzell - I love her energy. Hated the stupid background. Sounded flat on the chorus though. And no... she was singing an octive LOWER than the original... not an octive HIGHER Paula! Scott - Remember kids... when Justin back talked Simon, he didn't win. Scott... that sucked. And Hall and Oats probably couldn't agree with Simon because the producers were making them say it was great. Hell... it got them airtime. Scott was an ugly baby too... just thought I'd add that even though it doesn't add anything to the conversation. Carrie - I already mentioned what I thought about the performance. I still dig the voice somewhat. But she's boring. Thing is... she's the producers' robot. She was told to get out of her box by the judges so she left her box and did a rock song. Then the judges criticized her for going outside her box and said they liked the country stuff. But when she does the country stuff, they say she's boring and should get out of her box. It's a vicious cycle and really stupid on the producers part. They did the same thing to John Peter Louis last year (remember: we like the crazy dance thing... we don't... now we do... now we don't...). And she's a robot because she will follow the producers every command. Truly sad. Constantine - First Freebird and now this? Man... Well for what it was, it was decent. Although "Killer Queen" probably would have suited his voice better. I consider BR a song that is all over the place, but that's what makes it great. When you dumb it down so it's one part and one harmony... it's not so fun. Somewhere Freddie is spinning in his grave because his masterpiece made it to a POP star contest. And finally, Paula - LAY OFF THE MEDS! You need to sit your @$$ down. |
I didn't watch the show last night, but I don't feel like I missed much.
I probably won't watch the results show either... I'll be watching the kickoff of "Revelations".... I know FOX made tonight's results show longer b/c of this, but seriously, it doesn't take an HOUR to kick one person off the show... heck it shouldn't even take a half hour! Ya'll keep me updated on who gets the boot! With any luck it will be Scott, Anthony or ConstantCrap (although that one is probably unlikely  :p ) |
