Don't Forget Those Measurements!
Sometimes I think we get caught up on the numbers on the scale without realizing that there are other ways to track weight loss progress (clothes fitting better, more energy, comorbidities being reduced). I cannot stress enough the importance of body measurements.
I started Curves about 2 years before starting WW, but because I was not a diligent Curver (or eater, lol), I gained my customary 10 lbs in my first year. Yesterday I made an official loss (net) of 100 lbs. with Curves. I am more impressed with my measurements. Note: "Then" is June 2003. "Now" is November 2006. You will notice that in the beginning I was a proverbial apple shape (i.e., my waist was bigger than my hips). I am especially happy to have reversed these proportions! I hope these numbers will give some of you who have hesitated to exercise that final needed boost! BUST Then: 64"; Now: 46.75" WAIST Then: 55.5"; Now: 41.25" ABDOMEN Then: 58.25"; Now: 46.5" HIPS Then: 51.25"; Now: 45.5" THIGHS Then: 33.75"; Now: 24.5" ARMS Then: 18.5"; Now: 14" Total Inches Lost: 78 Total Pounds Lost: 101.5 (again, net) Body Fat Pounds: 71.01 Best of luck to all! Also, this week I was able to wear size 16 non-stretch jeans for the first time since 1989! I am psyched! |
^^^^^^ You're doing it REAL BIG GIRL!

Wow, how come I've never looked in this thread!
Congrats to everyone and their weight removal plan (see I said weight removal, cuz I know no one is trying to find any weight they've lost). I too am on a weight removal program through WW and so far so so. I did SB from Nov. 03 till April/May 04 and dropped 50lbs and have kept off about 20lbs of it. The one thing I realized was that if you don't watch your carb intake, you will put it all back on and then some. But now that I'm on WW, I'm a lot more aware of other issue with my food like fiber in take. I thought I knew a lot about food, but I didn't know diddly! So since June, I'm down 16lbs and one dress size (aint seen since high school)! Keep up the good work everyone, and I'll be participating in these discussions..support is the best thing to weight removal :D |
PP&D
Hey y'all!! Just poppin' in to say heeeeeeeeyyyyyyy and congrats to all on the losses! Glad everyone made it thru the holiday unscathed, lol. I actually lost a pound last week! Can't believe it! Still strugglin', though. I don't know what's wrong with me on the exercise tip, I really don't. At any rate, I hope everything is well with everyone. I haven't read all the recent posts, but I did see BabyBlue's news!!!! GO 'HEAD GIRL!!!!
The highlight of my life right now as it pertains to weight loss? I went thrifting and bought a size 12 pair of pants!!!! They're designer, but SO WHAT!!!!;) I ain't know what to do with myself!!! I'ma wear them to bible class this coming Sabbath! :D Keep up the good work ladies, and stay encouraged! :) |
Today I reached Onederland for the first time in 16 years (yep, since my late teens). I almost cried at the scale, and the two WW staff came and hugged me, as did several members.
I simply cannot believe it. I went through college and my entire career (so far) in my 200s (and later 300s). I am sure that everyone in my circle is going to take time to adjust to my new physique. May you all have a blessed holiday and healthy goals for 2007! |

Wendy's Large Chili, Side Salad Weight-loss website? Weight Watchers, "Trick" to stay on plan? I reward myself after every 25 pounds. When I get to the last 10, I write the numbers in red. |
