Same here. I was waiting for Simon to tell her that she can't hit the high notes and her vocals were all the over the place. Instead he told her that it was one of her best performances. What?!

I was in the audience during a taping of Season 1 (toward the end of the season). They sounded way different live than on TV!

If so many of you think the show has lost its luster, or that the season has been a bust, why do you continue to watch it every week? By doing that all you're doing is rewarding crap.

I used to be a faithful watcher of AI (Grey's Anatomy too), but only watch the performance nights on occasion now. I never watch the results shows. Why did I stop watching? All the product placement and manufactured drama drove me crazy. I found it insulting.

If you're not entertained by a TV show like AI, don't watch it! If you continue to do so, all we'll get is sucky TV. Demand better options!

Wow.

Well, I think it's safe to say that Jordin won. There's no way the producers will allow another gimmicky contestant who can't sell records win AI.

KatieKate1244 05-16-2007 10:03 PM

Wow, indeed. Did Taylor Hicks even release an album? I can't remember hearing anything about it. Katherine McPhee's stuff isn't too bad (but is forgettable). I agree Jordin will win.

I don't think race matters in winning AI. It will be someone who is NOT from the South (if you consider Texas and OK to be a part of the South).

And Simon and them got their wish tonight.

I'm glad Melinda is gone... she reminded me a little too much of Shrek for some reason and I didn't see the whole super-awesome thing about her.

I don't see that for Blake or Jordin either, but Jordin is my fav of the two

I still fail to see the Jordin hype, and I'm sorry...I hope I never have to hear "I WHO HAVE NOTHING" ever again. I feel like slitting my wrists each time I freaking hear it.

Melinda doesn't need American Idol. I'm sure her cell phone's been ringing off the hook since last night.

Two things from last night's show:

Elliot Yamin should have won Season 5. I still love love love him and have y'all heard his new CD out? It's great, and I am so glad he re-did Donny Hathaway's "A Song For You."

I still love Maroon 5, but they were so much better when they were Kara's Flowers. :(

All votes to Blake next week for me...just because he doesn't fit the AI package all ya'll think the AI winner should be.

What is the name of the song that Elliot Yamin sang last night?
It was very good! I liked it, and would enjoy hearing it again.

"Wait For You" -- I ended up buying the whole CD not too long ago because it really is good!

I'm for Blake. Jordin is just too broadway for me. Blake has a good sound and will definately record well.

So after all the flack from the judges and FOX about the Seattle auditions, we end up with two finalists from the Seattle auditions?!

I liked it too and thought his look was better now. I think if he'd looked like that during his season, he'd have gone even further than he did. He looked so odd when he was in the competition.

Has Bucky taken notes from Elliot that teeth can indeed be fixed?

No one else remembers that except for us Seattleites! :p
