Nut- that is odd that the website and the manual don't have the same year. Strange strange.

I am going to guess:
b.) Tennessee

We have a winner!

You are CORRECT, Michelle. Tennessee was indeed the first state to have 2 Chi Omega active chapters, followed by Illinois.

Question # 2,673:

On the cover of the Fall 2004 issue of The Eleusis, Jan Blackwell, National Archivist, is pictured with Katie Bass, G.H. of Pi Gamma Chapter. What is the association between these two?

a.) They both are initiates of Pi Gamma Chapter at the Univ. of New Mexico
b.) Katie is Jan's granddaughter
c.) Jan lives in Albuquerque where Pi Gamma Chapter is located.
d.) All of the above

oncelurked 10-11-2004 03:33 PM

Well, since I seem to have stopped receiving The Eleusis for no apparent reason, I'll have to guess.....
And I guess D) all of the above

=)

Nope, nope, nope...not D!

(Heh heh heh <evil laugh> I am sooo tricky -- 99% of the time I love the "all of the above" answer!)

P.S. oncelurked, why don't you let the HQ know about your absence of a magazine? Call or write: 901-748-8600 or webmaster@chiomega.com

xo_kathy 10-13-2004 03:12 PM

I'll say C - the Albuquerque connection!

I know that is where Pi Gamma is and I know Jan lives there because I have her card from when I sent in a badge. My Mom lives there, too, so it makes it an even better answer! :p

Since the mid-1980s, every Chi Omega alumna with a "good" address has received The Eleusis free of charge. Prior to that time, what was the subscription cost?

a.) $18.95/year
b.) $5.00/year, $12.00 for 3 years, $100.00 for a lifetime subscription
c.) $1.00/issue
d.) There has never been a fee for the magazine.

oncelurked 10-20-2004 01:41 PM

Where do you find this stuff, Nut??? You know so many things about Chi-O!
Anywho, I'll go with B since that sounds reasonable. (I would say D, but for some strange reason I don't think that would be the case after having looked at the Eleusis from 1940 - it was pretty long, and I'd think it would have been expensive to print for everyone free of charge)

And I think changing my address did the trick, because I got my Eleusis!!!

NutBrnHair 10-20-2004 02:00 PM

We have a wiiiiiiinner!

Correct answer, oncelurked! It is B: $5/year. (Wonder how many people actually chose the $100 lifetime option?!)

Yes, back in the old days, "The Eleusis" was a quarterly publication and was more like a small paperback book listing happenings from each chapter and listings of Phi Beta Kappa members, homecoming queens, etc. There were also articles usually written by university people. Each issue was about 150 pages.

Who, who, whoooo is a bride?

Which current member of the Supreme Governing Council got married this year?

a.) Letitia Niemeier Fulkerson
b.) Shelley Eubanks Potter
c.) Persephone Jones
d.) Stephanie Jacques DuPont

xo_kathy 10-21-2004 03:24 PM

D! Stephanie!
I saw her pic in the Eleusis with ALL those Chi Os at her wedding! It was the size of an active college chapter! :)

And she looked beautiful (of course!).

Nut - you're using trick questions, again. We all know Persephone is getting married on April 5, 2005!!!!! ;)

NutBrnHair 10-22-2004 01:41 AM

Yep, yep, yep! You got it, Kathy. Yeah -- good ole Persephone Jones didn't trick ya, huh?! Right answer -- Stephanie is our newlywed.
