Do you all get upset if a friend moves you out of their Top friends? I never found it to be issue if a friend moved me out but other people have told me that I committed a huge sin or something. I'm kinda new to MySpace so I don't know what is considered a MySpace faux pas.

I've decided I'm doing my Ph.D on how myspace destroys relationships... in my counseling sessions, couples get so upset when one person is higher on a friends list than the other is on the other spouse's list... or when one doesn't say anything about him/her on their page. it seems so juvenile, but i'm dealing with the effects of it in the counseling room, and while these people are mad/in pain, I can't help but laugh sometimes.

I had dinner plans with this girl tonight. I've sent her an email asking her what's going on and she hasn't responded. I've called her and she won't answer. I guess it's safe to say that I no longer have plans with her tonight! I haven't dealt with petty stuff like this since middle school. argh.

And that's another reason why I don't have MySpace, apparently this top 8/12/24 stuff is Serious Business. Is there any way you can just randomize that and have different top people every day?

I don't even look at my friends pages enough to find out if I'm in their top whatever. The only person I'd give a hard time about taking me out of his #1 spot would be my boyfriend, and even then I'd only be joking. Maybe a little wounded for a minute & a half, but nothing to worry about. ;)

Unfortunately you're not the only one who's had to deal with something like this.

But get this. My so-called "best friend" gave me crap because I "demoted" her from #1 to #2. Sure, I moved her from #1, but that was only so I could include the guy I've been with off and on for over a year!

After she whined about it, I had to put her in her place. I was like, "Bitch if you don't shut the hell up I'll take you off my damn list completely!"

MySpace has definitely turned normal people into all kinds of attention whores.

Its sad but true...I'd originally only gotten on to keep on eye on my younger siblings, but there was lots of drama back at home (I'm the only one who's moved out) because of who was ranked higher on my top 8...so my mom asked me to please find a fair way to rank them. I just took them all off, too much of a headache. :p

Okay, you know that's going too far when MOM has to intervene all because of a MySpace Top 8.

not sure what happened, but i stopped showing up on friend's lists and all my comments have been deleted.. so i think it's safe to say it's completely gone :(

You haven't been spamming your web cam, have you? :)

As far as the top goes, I have heard about people getting all upset about it but always thought it was a joke. My top 8 is reserved for Nigerian love scammers. All my real friends are set randomly on the pages by the system.

THat's actually a really good idea. I've heard of marriages ending because the wife found the husband's myspace and it said he was single, had no kids (they had a kid) and was there for dating and serious relationships

An aquaintance of mine and her husband have been having... issues, to put it lightly, so she completely deleted him from her "Top 8"... that same girl got mad at a friend of theirs and deleted him from her list completely and blocked him.

Are we 8 again?

texas*princess 12-15-2006 07:10 PM

As sad as it is, I'm actually upset that my myspace is gone :( I feel so violated!!! And it's going to be a pain to have to put everything together again b/c I don't know everyone's email address because we would normally just send myspace messages.

grrrrr

valkyrie 12-15-2006 07:20 PM

Okay, the people getting mad about not being in your top whatever are freaking ridiculous. WHO IN THE HELL CARES? I care so little about top friends I changed my page so I don't have ANY. THAT TOTALLY MEANS THAT I DON'T LIKE ANYBODY AND YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF LOSERS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAOMG.

sierrabravo 12-16-2006 12:40 PM

i use myspace, i havent been one in a while. I dont let it control my life like other people though. I know a lot of people are nuts about getting like 90000 friends, but whats the point when you talk to one or two?

Is there any way of getting someone banned or their account deleted from myspace?
The same creepy guy from high school that was myspace stalking me & posting pictures of me all over his page is doing it again. I am extremely aggravated by this creep. I've reported his page for the 10th time and all they do is remove my pictures which he promptly puts back up again.

What's creepy is that he has pictures of all these girls from high school (which was 10 years ago) and posts them as all his ex-girlfriends. He even scanned the prom book and the yearbook and his high school diploma on his page. The guy is super freaking creepy.
