My dad who is from New Orleans has always called them weejuns.

^^That's interesting. I guess they are loafers, though I usually consider weejuns to be a more traditional penny/tassel loafer a la Bass Weejuns.

I wonder if it would be uncouth for me to bring up K-Swiss and Kenneth Cole.
