A lot of the guys disappeared at the same time. Shinerbock, macallen, and SECdomination.

I miss Drolefille.

macallen, aka TexasWSP, still posts every now and then. His latest post was last week.

I figure shinerbock got busy with law school (and maybe political involvement?).

What about EE-BO?

It's true! I pop back in every once in a while. Work is keeping me much busier than I expected and I built a house this year so I am trying to get settled. :)

Miss you too MysticCat!

I'm working on my clinical internship full time now to finish my Master's, so I spend all day leading groups and hopefully soon doing assessments and treatment plans. On the plus side, I love my job! On the negative side, I'm not getting paid :(

Are you in a Counseling program by any chance? I just graduated with my Master's in Counseling (Rehab speciality) in December!

Yes I am! I'm specializing in Marriage and Family.. in theory at least. None of my clinical experience has been in the field so far. I did my practicum at a site that specialized in children who are victims of sexual abuse and juvenile sex offenders and now I'm interning at a residential/outpatient clinic for SMI. They're like night and day.

Oh and Congratulations! Save a job for me ;)

Haha. I will try. I've got a job (working with veterans), but I'm actually considering going back to become Dr. Violet. I know, I'm crazy.

That is a VERY good field, especially if you are credentialed enough to qualify as an expert witness in family courts. Those who qualify and who are actually willing to subject themselves to examination and cross examination are few and far between.

I'm considering it too, madness I know! But I want to get some work experience in me and figure out precisely what I'd get the Doctorate in, it could be interesting to branch in an entirely different direction or become highly specialized in *something* what ever that is.

I'd probably have to publish quite a bit to pull that off, or make it my life goal to read and mentally file everything ever written on some of the topics. But it's certainly an intriguing idea. Trick is, counselors bill by the hour, and being paid to be a witness is a hit against the credibility of your testimony, is it not? (All I know about law comes from L&O/reading about the Prop8 case) So finding some financial stability first is key.

I'm going to need nittanyalum to pop back up here sometime soon. Recruitment season is coming.

knight_shadow 05-26-2010 06:01 PM

^^^ I still perk up when I see "nittanygirl" logged on, only to be disappointed when I realize it's the wrong person.

I miss OTW. I'm still in contact with her, but I miss her GC commentary.
