The storyline brought back Denny, who the audience loves, and used the history of the show. I am very curious as to how it will play out in the next few episodes. I'm guessing Hahn will pull a "Burke-like" disappearing act.

I totally agree with you, I think this last episode was VERY well written and it really made me hate Erica because I love Izzie (I know some people don't though). I am so happy that Denny was back! My boyfriend can't stand him but I really hope they keep him around!

a.e.B.O.T. 11-09-2008 03:53 PM

Well, he is dead, so it will be hard to keep him around, and I understand this episode with his flashback etc... but the Denny storyline is soooo dead now, I will be mad if it lasts longer then next thursday!!!

What is Erica's deal? Really? They make her this extreme emotional nutbag, one second she is crying over and orgasm, the next she is on the war path... Maybe there is some inoperable tumor in her brain causing her to be uber angry?

Fleur de Lis 11-09-2008 04:34 PM

Anyone else noticed that Izzy becomes a different character when she dates someone? With Denny, she was full of witty comebacks and really vulnerable, then with George she was a dumb blonde, now with Alex she's trying so hard to be the "I don't care if you screw other women" girl. I hope with the Denny storyline she brings back a little of that Izzy.

I loved the Mark and Christina storyline this week!! I'm a big fan of hers and hope the new doctor brings real love, not this "two seconds of sexual tension, then intense kiss, then we're together" pattern we've been watching all season.

Thetagirl218 11-09-2008 06:31 PM

I am soooo happy Hahn is bye bye.....I have always hated her character!!!

I don't believe for a second that ABC would fire someone for a homosexual storyline. They had some of the first homosexual story lines on network TV. Most gay or lesbian story lines do not gross me out...but the Hahn/Callie one did!!!

So, I've heard the rumor is that Izzy has a brain tumor and she's going to be killed off...anyone else hear that? Any truth to the story?

The brain tumor might explain her hallucinations about Denny. I did hear that this may be Katherine Heigel's last season, and that she wasn't thrilled about the material they have been giving her last season or this season.

Really? That would make sense.

I understand the whole "I'm seeing Denny and I don't know why" thing, but she touches him, and next week appears to have sex with him? It's becoming a little weird.

Not according to Shonda Rhimes. (And please let her not be leaving -- she's the main reason for a husband to enjoy watching with his wife. ;))

Anyone else finding the new ER doctor off-putting? My wife thinks he's way too intense.

And any thoughts on Dr. Dixon last night? My wife and I called the Asperger's as soon as she started talking -- of course, we do have an advantage recognizing the symptoms.

Yea, Mr. "I think this is my ER" has got to go. He's making me mad. And what was up with that kiss last night with Christina? She walked away looking .. upset?

And I thought the whole Dr. Dixon thing was kind of interesting.

But what happened to "Death" who decided to slice her shoulder open so the interns could stitch her up? That happened, then where'd she go? Did I miss something?

awkward1 11-14-2008 03:50 PM

I don't like the direction they are taking this show. The Izzy/Denny thing is getting old...I think she is hallucinating. Now Alex has seen her talking to herself I think that this will start to resolve itself in the next 2 episodes. The Dr. Hahn/Callie thing needed to end, it was just out of character for Callie to be in that relationship. And what was with her hysterical screaming at the end? I didn't think that she was THAT much in love with Hahn so I felt that it was a little over dramatic. And I thought the new guy doctor was going to rape Christina! What the hell was that? I want more Bailey more Chief, and more George....and more Meredith/Mcdreamy!

OtterXO 11-14-2008 06:52 PM

I'm really not understanding the Denny thing. It's one thing to SEE the person but this is just weird. I'm also not a fan of the exhibitionist, self mutilating new girl intern.

I do love new intense ER doc and Christina. She needed a new love interest and I like their dynamic from last week. The kiss was a bit intense, but they're both pretty intense so it's not surprising. I hope they fall in love :)

AGDee 11-14-2008 07:43 PM

I can't get into the Izzy/Denny thing. I heard the brain tumor rumor and was relieved that there may be a logical explanation in it. If it's not something physiologically wrong with Izzy, then this show may have just "jumped the shark". I'm not someone who is quick to say that about TV shows like some are, but this could just be going too far.

McRambo is clearly suffering from PTSD so when he loses a patient after just losing his whole battalion (or whatever term they used), he couldn't deal with it. Then Christina startled him... something you can't do with a vet whose been in combat.

The previews for next week just made me think "wtf???" From the interns doing on surgery on each other to Izzy and Denny sleeping together? Too weird.

WarEagle07 11-14-2008 08:36 PM

So the new psycho intern just shows up at Meredith's place unannounced and barges in without introducing herself to Derick and then jumps in their bed. She takes off her shirt in front of all the interns and cuts herself and smiles as she does it. This is just too weird! I hope that this character isn't around for long. I have also heard that Izzy has a brain tumor and Katherine Heigle wanted off the show. When I hear that the Denny story arc is going to be HUGE I have to think that Izzy is going to have some sort of breakdown or illness like a brain tumor no matter what Shonda Rhymes says. I mean, she isn't going to give anything away!

Yeah. I have seen this in more than a few guys around here. You can't sneak up on them if they have been in a constant state of awareness in Iraq/Afghan. It's just a reflex. I think most people who have been around someone that's been in a warzone/conflict could easily see what was going to happen when she ran after him.

I like him.

SOPi_Jawbreaker 11-14-2008 10:53 PM

I didn't despise Hahn, but I could take it or leave it so I don't really care either way that she's gone. I like Hunt but I'm not sure I like these "I'm going to kiss you intensely, we're not going to say anything, and then you're going to walk away" make-out sessions. I could not stand Dr. Dixon for more than two minutes. If she became the new doctor at Seattle Grace, I would have to stop watching Grey's. I think the whole Denny thing is going to turn out to be a brain tumor. I hope Izzie goes. I'm tired of her.

Jimmy Choo 11-15-2008 12:44 AM

While I'm all for offing Izzy this is not the way I thought the Denny/brain tumor thing would play. The sex with a dead guy is just WEIRD!!!

I like him.

I've seen Vietnam vets who are still like this, some 30+ years later. My ex-BIL almost decked one of his sons when his son thought it would be funny to "scare" him by hiding and jumping out at him when he was younger. The kid learned not to do that again! (and was unharmed)

Are there varying degrees of Asperger's? A guy I knew back in HS had it and you'd really never know except he'd do some quirky things once in a while and he sometimes didn't understand why people were upset when he said or did something crappy. Besides that, he seemed normal. I thought the Dr. Dixon character seemed to be a more extreme case.

Asperger's is a spectrum disorder like Autism. No 2 people really 'have it' the same.

Dr. Dixon did seem extreme, and deadbear is right -- like anything else on the spectrum, it's different for every one.

Our son sounds more like the guy from your high school. You might just mistake his Aspergers for some lousy social skills if you didn't know a few give-away clues he presents -- not looking people in the eye, talking on and on about a particular subject (perseverence) and a few others.

The Asperger's newsgroup I belong to has been discussing Dr Dixon. Most of us seem to have kids who are overly outgoing and lack acceptable social skills, none of us seem to have kids who are cold like she was. My son is one of those who has all the little quirky characteristics and also goes on and on when it comes to a particular subject (TV shows).

I heard this months ago, so I was waiting for the Denny hallucinations to start. I know Shonda said it wouldn't happen, but here she is, hallucinating like the rumour said she would. Shonda also said the Ericallie things was going places and that didn't happen. My vote is for the rumor because Shonda's hints aren't coming through.

I'm not sure where she went, but Meredith is "Death." That girl was "Die." (could they have more morbid nicknames??)

The same in my field. My friends and I who work in psychiatric settings CANNOT be sneaked up on. We will reflexively get ready to take you down because, when a patient is coming at you from behind, it's almost never "just to be funny."

Interesting to hear your group's reaction. My son can be very outgoing with people he's comfortable with -- otherwise it can be a real struggle getting him to answer the simplest question or make the most basic response to someone speaking to him.

And he's funny about going on and on about particular subjects. Unlike some with Asperger's who stay fixed on a particular subject for years and years, with him the subject changes periodically. Right now, my wife and I are very, very ready to stop hearing about fennic foxes. :D

Ok, I am getting ready for tonights episode with Izzy making love to ghost Denny. I hope that she gets busted so the storyline can move on and we can finally know whether or not she actually has a brain tumor. I am also hoping that when the interns get busted for operating on themselves that this will be the end of Little Grey...I want to see more Christina and George!

Ditto. I do like Little Grey so I'm glad she walked out of that situation. They are acting nuts. On the other hand, their residents are definitely not teaching them a darn thing. They don't get to do anything compared to what the others did as interns.

This Izzy thing is totally freaking me out too. They need to come up with something.

I've had c-diff. They treat it with flagyl, not with a fecal transplant. C-difficile is a bacterium that lives in the colon naturally. It is kept in check by other bacteria that also live there. Some antibiotics do kill off the ones that keep c-diff in check. But flagyl kills off the c-diff and things can normalize. You can also take probiotics. NOT a fecal transplant, that's just freaky.

awkward1 11-20-2008 11:23 PM

^^my thoughts exactly...eat some yogurt for heavens sake! A fecal transplant is disgusting...is that even real? I love that McBadass told Christina that she was beautiful :) I am ready for Izzy to fess up to someone that she is seeing Denny. The novelty of it has worn off for me and I need to know if Izzy is sick, nuts, or having a revelation of some sort.

Yes, I went and googled "fecal transplant". There is such a thing. Ugh! Here is a link to the

Eh, I just see it as this "cycle" of interns' LVAD thing. It just reminded me so much of something Christina and the group would have attempted back in the day.

I am SO ready for the residents to actually start teaching. They are idiots compared to where Mer and everyone was by this time in their intern period. It's sad to me for them to let the interns just meander around behind them as they do all the learning.

And how would you like to be the person who supplies the fecal matter for your loved one? No thank you!

Or, how about hearing this, "Now, just lie back. We are going to put this tube through your nose, down the back of your throat, and run fecal matter through it into your stomach."

This is all just a little too wierd for my liking! Bring back the guy with the unexploded bomb in his body, or the guy who encased himself in cement, or...wait, those are all kind of wierd too!:)

AnatraAmore 11-21-2008 11:34 PM

I just find it weird how while Cristina was an intern she was doing cardio-thorasic surgeries with Burke and yet the interns seem to never even see the inside of an OR... on the other hand, I can totally have seen Cristina and Mer doing some crazy things like that if they had been in the same position as this group of interns.

I wish they'd get rid of Denny. I'm so over that storyline. Cristina and McBadass... now that's something that might be interesting...
