A few years ago when I was still in school, I saw flyers all around campus saying that they wanted to bring XYZ (an NPC sorority) to campus. There were several girls interested in forming a chapter of XYZ at my school.

AGD is the only NPC sorority on campus and every year the chapter seems like they're getting bigger with each new NM class. It would seem like a good idea to bring another NPC on campus, right?

Well, nothing ever came about from the XYZ interest group. Apparently their HQ put their foot down because there simply were not enough alums willing to help out, and because of our distance, there weren't too many resources nearby -- the closest collegiate chapter of this sorority was in the Midwest, I think.

So even though you've got girls so determined to start another sorority chapter on campus, you'll be running into a brick wall if your College Panhellenic says no or if NPC groups don't have any interest in that campus.

Hm. Somehow ended up on this thread. I can't tell if the OP was a troll.

I wish someone had QFPed the first post, although I guess I can figure out the jist of it.

I don’t think she was a troll, just one of those people who thinks they know a lot more about Greek life than they actually do. Then they come here and ask for advice, and don’t like the answers they are given, from people who really do know how things work.

I *really* with that people would understand how different the answers to these questions between the NPC and most (all?) other groups. The only other GLO that I can come up with off the top of my head that a student shouldn't be contacting the National Organization to try to get it on campus is Phi Beta Kappa. For Phi Beta Kappa, the *school* needs to put in an application.

GXP is slowly moving toward that model.
