Yes. Last year, too. Second year in a row with all 15 chapters making quota. :D

Congrats to the new AGD, DZ, and A Chi O!

I have a soft spot for A Chi O, thanks to the Panhellenic President on my campus while I was there. She was the nicest girl i have ever met.

My daughter got a bid to AGD too! She was really excited and said the girls just made her feel so welcomed last night!!

It's been quite a week for us - at first I started worrying about how Fay would impact Recruitment week. Then the blasted storm decided to pay us a visit. We live in Nassau County (north of Jacksonville) and were just hammered by pounding rain (stopped counting around 15 inches in 24 hours). We ended up with over a foot of water (from Thomas Creek) in our house. FEMA, Red Cross and the National Guard have been out on my street trying to help my neighbors (some had 5 feet of water in their house).

I can truthfully say that her excited calls about recruitment and the girls she's met have been the bright spot in my days recently. She left for Tallahassee not knowing a soul at school, and has since made some great new friends. She has a pretty long break between classes today, so she went to the sorority house for a while (she loved it)!!

So congrats to all of the girls!!! I'm glad they found their new homes!

Congratulations to all thee FSU New Members and to all the sororities for reaching quota!

angelove 08-25-2008 03:00 PM

Congratulations to all the new Noles sisters! May our football season be as successful as your recruitments (with less rain)!

nolesaw 08-25-2008 04:42 PM

So glad to hear that all the houses made quota! Except for last year....I don't think it had happened before. Not when I was at FSU from 88-92!

Congrats to the AGD girls! ( and KKG, DZ and AXO) Glad to see there are some new Gamma Betas and Gamma Beta moms on this board! Hope to hear lots of fun stories from 517 W Park Ave.

GO NOLES!

AnchorAlum 08-25-2008 06:27 PM

VERY glad to hear that rush had such a positive outcome for both the sororities AND the PNM's, when you consider that the weather was so bad I'm sure some people were convinced they were going to drown in between parties!

Let's hope football season turns out as well...:)

I'm happy to say my daughter is now a pledge of delta gamma. I was vice president of my pledge class and social chairman...she was so worried she would not make it but is beyond thrilled to have made it through . She feels terrible for many of her friends who did not get their first choice..and one friend even dropped out. It was a very emotional time for the girls. I'm glad it's over. I too need a recovery time! Congrats to all the Moms...I'm glad so many daughters are happy.

FSUZeta 08-25-2008 08:35 PM

mara, are you a member of delta gamma?

Mara, are you an Alum of a house at FSU?

I send your daughter a sincere congrats! When my daughter went through at FSU, it was a hairy time. So many girls and so many good rushees the competition is tough.

CONGRATULATIONS, PENGUINTRAXDAUGHTER!!!

After all the hard work you've done with the Recruitment threads, it's truly justice that your daughter got a bid!

baci 08-25-2008 10:30 PM

Huge congrats to your daughter mara1023 (and to you as well)!!!

DG all the way!:)

AGDLynn 08-25-2008 10:41 PM

That's wonderful about AGD!!

I stayed at the house a few years ago for "recruitment bootcamp". Met up with some GCer's there (one whose luggage was temporarily lost;) )

That's the first time I'd ever slept on a "sleeping porch". Did I get the term right?

I was impressed with Tallahassee what little I saw of it.

Congratulations to all the chapters! :D:D

Whoah! She's not my daughter, but the daughter of a good friend. She had an outstanding recruitment and we're all very proud of her!

yep-the term is sleeping porch and most of the houses at fsu had them at one time or another. one of my dearest friends at fsu was a member of the alpha gam chapter and it was so convenient to visit with her, because our houses were back door neighbors. good times, good times!

She ended up at DG, but she also "ended up" not staying in Tally - in retrospect, she was not happy being so far from home. At the time, we lived in Texas, where she grew up. She came back to Texas and went to school there.

:o

baci 08-28-2008 09:41 AM

It's all good!^^

UFTheta 08-29-2008 10:34 AM

Does anyone know if there is a list of where the PNM's pledged? I wrote several recs and have not heard where the girls pledged. Thanks!

PenguinTrax 08-29-2008 11:07 AM

FSU does not publish a list. If you PM me the names, I might be able to find out for you.

dymonz4me 10-11-2008 06:11 PM

This is just a little update to let you all know that my daughter had her initiation ceremony today and she is extremely happy to be a sister of Alpha Gamma Delta. Since bid day, she has already made so many memorable moments with her sisters and they all have so much fun together hanging out at the house and going out and about. Being that she's a biology major (she wants to be a surgeon), she really does have to practice balancing school and sorority activities, but it's working out and she's maintaining a high GPA and having fun with her new sisters. I'm just so excited for her and want to thank all of you for posting such helpful info in preparation for all of this. She is extremely happy and said this is one of the best decisions that she has ever made!

AGDLynn 10-11-2008 10:26 PM

Congratulations to your daughter and my new sister!!

squirrely girl 10-12-2008 03:46 PM
