I am not very active. But I know everyone loves good news. I received an alum newsletter regarding Epsilon Psi - UT Dallas.

Quota: 21
Epsilon Psi got Quota +2 (23).
Bringing them to 62 members (Total is 55)

I am so happy for them!

Cheers!

Northern Michigan University,Zeta Upsilon, quota=9, AGD=9... I have to add, they returned to campus with 11 women this semester so they almost DOUBLED their chapter size. Quota last year was 2 and they took 4. They were also on scholarship prob and raised their GPA to a 3.02. AND, they did all of this without a single solitary advisor in the middle of nowhere!!! I am SO proud of this chapter! I hope the alumnae initiate recruitment for advisors we're staging is as successful!

Ball State University, Beta Tau, quota=22, AGD=24

greeklawgirl 09-15-2008 11:12 AM

A little birdie told me that Delta Tau (Chapman) pledged quota plus, but I'm still waiting for the official numbers. Way to go, California Gams!

mary8 09-15-2008 01:22 PM

Theta Tau (Belmont Univ.) has 22 baby squirrels! Quota was 30. That means that we have 66 squirrels on campus now, and chapter total is 69 - we will finally reach chapter total this year! CORs have already been planned, and we couldn't be more excited for our baby squirrels.

emily0325 09-15-2008 04:14 PM

Zeta Sigma Chapter at Northwood University got 11 baby squirrels which brought us to chapter total of 36!

squirrely girl 09-15-2008 04:16 PM

has anybody heard how Alpha Kappa (Bowling Green State University) did?

AGDLynn 09-15-2008 06:52 PM

I don't know but I heard Alpha Lamda doesn't have power.:(

canadajen 09-16-2008 03:00 AM

Delta Zeta ~ more good news!!

Delta Zeta (UBC) has welcomed 27 (quota + 2) new baby squirrels :)

Good thing is that classes don't start until September 24 so luckily the collegians haven't moved back into the chapter house thankfully! But Columbus was hit hard so let's hope that everything is back to normal by this weekend when move-in starts!

AGDLynn 09-17-2008 05:45 AM

They have power now.

agdpearlgirl76 09-19-2008 09:49 PM

Update from Delta Pi - San Francisco State University!!! We pledged 47 new members and two legacies!!! We are really excited and can't wait them all to become a part of our sisterhood.

AGDLynn 09-20-2008 11:59 PM

Read on Facebook that Mu got quota plus 4 (didn't say what quota was...usually about 8???). Largest nm class on campus.:D

All of OSU was out for several days. I had my niece with me in LA when the storm hit. Her roommate told her not to hurry back to Columbus. Niece's apartment is not too far from Alpha Lambda.

Woo hoo, Delta Pi! Way to go...I remember when 15 was a big pledge class. I can't believe how far the chapter has come. :)

Kappa Gamma (Univ. of Texas- Corpus Christi) postponed recruitment a week because of Hurricane Ike, but they had a successful recruitment and welcomed 27 new members.

Also, Delta Sigma (Univ. of Hawaii at Manoa) welcomed 15 new members last Friday night, increasing chapter total to 40. Pretty impressive, considering they were down to 11 returning collegians at the start of recruitment this time last year. :) :D

Taualumna 09-25-2008 10:19 PM

Apparently Tau got 11 (!!!!) baby squirrels this year!

ETA: Quota was 12.

alphagamsmom 09-27-2008 08:39 AM

My daughter is a new Alpha Gam at the University of Michigan. She said there are 30 new members.

AGDee 09-28-2008 03:14 PM

Beta Epsilon: Quota 10, Alpha Gams 10 :)

AGDLynn 09-29-2008 05:52 PM

Alpha Gam is doing great this year!!

(Dee, I pulled for UM while watching the UM-Wisc game Sat b/c the UM chapter is still open;)) If they had both been open, it woulda been a toss up, lol.

alphagamsmom 09-30-2008 10:23 AM

I toured the Alpha Beta house a few days ago when I visited my daughter. It's beautiful, and the members were terrific--so friendly and gracious. I can't wait to see a chapter photo. My daughter said there are some on Facebook, but I'd like to see one here. Thanks for your efforts, LionInMI.

LΩVE 09-30-2008 12:58 PM

Gamma Upsilon has a 21 member pledge class.

This is most of them on Bid Day. The girls are also on http://umagd.moonfruit.com. And they're awesome!

Hi! Yes! Alpha Beta matched a fabulous class of 30 NMs! I'm still working on getting a big group chapter picture, they hit 100 on Bid Day! (and remember, this is a chapter that had 30 active members on the rolls just back in Fall 2006!)

I can't wait to see them at IRD, more than 100 strong. I remember the time when we had to have room for around 700 for IRD because we had almost 300 just from Alpha Beta and Chi and we still had 6 other collegiate chapters plus alumnae attending.

AGDAlum 09-30-2008 11:07 PM

Congratulations to Alpha Beta!

AGDAlum 10-01-2008 10:57 AM

This was posted to the Rose Sisters Yahoo Group, so I think it's the official word:
"Congrats to our collegiate chapters for doing well in recruitment. They made 96% of the goal."

I don't know what "the goal" was (quota? total? or a lesser-yet-achievable number?), nor how 96% compares to "the goal" in previous years, but from all the reports on this thread, it sounds as though it's been a good season. (Now, to initiate and retain them!)

I got a note from their Member Development Adviser that they were the only NPC group to get quota through formal recruitment.

96% of Quota was achieved during fall formal recruitment by the chapters who participated in fall formal recruitment.

DS_Castro 10-01-2008 11:50 PM

Wow... that is crazy. Im from a tiny school and we have tiny frats/sororities here. We picked up 4 new guys and are happy with that number.

alphagamsmom 10-02-2008 07:34 PM

Which one is your daughter, alphagamsmom?

In the Alpha Beta NM photo, she's directly under the "Alpha".

alphagamsmom 10-09-2008 09:40 PM

Sorry, I haven't checked this thread for a while. Her name starts with "K".

Taualumna 11-06-2008 12:27 PM

I just wanted to add that Tau's Feast of Roses is in two weeks and from what I was told at the New Members' Welcome Tea, we're at total!

AGDLynn 11-06-2008 08:55 PM

Gamma Tau is initiating 24 tonight!

Benzgirl 01-20-2009 11:26 PM

This is not official, but I heard through the grapevine that Alpha lambda at Ohio State took 28, which is OVER QUOTA!!!!!

I have a message into one of the actives to get the actual numbers.
