Chapters at Rowan (NJ)
The list of NPC chapters currently on Rowan's web site is a bit different fron the one in this GC recruitment thread: http://www.rowan.edu/clubs/greeklife...PCChapters.htm Rowan has also posted this notice: "We would like to advise all students and parents/guardians that there are groups of University students that are not recognized by the University. For your own well-being, we discourage you from attending their events and from affiliating with these organizations." The notice is near the bottom of this page on Rowan's site: http://www.rowan.edu/clubs/greeklife...howtojoin.html The list of groups includes the names of -- or names identical to -- two NPC organizations. The organizations are NOT listed as members of Rowan's Panhellenic. |

This may not be the case here, but I just wanted to point out it does happen. |

I found this regarding the DZ chapter at Rowan. Looks like DZ had some hazing and disciplinary offenses. Their chapter website hasn't been updated since 2005. |
I <3 exlurker. To be totally honest, I dread 2 parts of this list - California and the Northeast (mainly NJ and NY). So thanks for giving me all those CA dates!!!

Yes, my top-secret NPC source confirmed that the DZ chapter isn't just unrecognized, it is indeed closed at Rowan. |

I have some updated information about some colleges/universities in Texas:
Midwestern State University - September 2008 Saint Mary's University - formal recruitment is held in January 2009 Schreiner University - formal recruitment is held in January 2009, they are holding an informal recruitment information session on September 4, 2008 Southern Methodist University - January 14-19, 2009 |
Only 4 days until recruitment starts! I believe Oklahoma State is first, kicking things off August 4.
|
My God! 4 days until recruitment! My girls in California won't even start recruitment school for another month and a half.
But I do LOVE recruitment, so I can't wait to start reading the stories! |

Theta Phi Alpha MedCentral College of Nursing Mansfield, OH This colony never transpired. |
It's hard to believe that Fall Recruitment has started already. According to the AGD recruitment dates list, I know East Central (OK) started today. Troy University and University of South Alabama start this week...then 'Bama and Auburn on Sunday! Wheeeee!

Hi Irishpipes, I have some more updates for you but it says your inbox is too full, I would post them on here but it's a lot of updates.

University of Louisville and Indiana University Southeast
Some minor additions/corrections for two universities:
University of Louisville's campus total is currently 80. Indiana University Southeast's Recruitment dates are September 16-28, 2008 (exlurker was referencing an out of date website that either has been, or is in the process of being, taken down due to its inaccurate information- FR is spread over a week and half now, instead of just one weekend) and campus total there is currently 30. Thanks for the great work! |
I'm trying not to be picky, as it doesn't really matter, but...

Oklahoma State U. NPC Sorority Bid List 2008
As published in a local paper: names, hometowns, and sororities: http://www.stillwater-newspress.com/...ces_printstory |
That list doesn't jive with LyreLyre's report. (And frankly, it seems like the bid list published must be incomplete just knowing OSU and the reps there. I'm inclined to go with LL's report.) I am glad to see that some of the smaller chapters went over quota. Go Pokes!

The list shows 3 groups under quota. Two are WAY under and the other is slightly under. It could be that some PNMs didn't accept bids or something, I guess. The two that are way under wouldn't typically be under quota at OSU. At least not that far.
|
not to nitpick, but the info for Ohio University is not correct. Here is the correct info (in bold):
Ohio University Athens, OH: September 12-14 and 19-21, 2008 Quota= Campus Total= 135 Quota last year=21 |
irishpipes, you've outdone yourself again! Kudos!!

What happened to University of Missouri-Rolla?

Changed name to school of science & technology or something like that.
ETA: Missouri University of Science & Technology |
campus total
Just wondering about the campus total for U of F. The scholarship reports on the web page (http://www.greeks.ufl.edu/resources/ ) only show 4 chapters at or above total if 180 is campus total. Does that sound right?

The PNMs all showed up on campus today. I was running errands on campus and talked to so many parents and gave them directions. they are pretty obvious with their maps or general looks of confusion, even if they are alumni. I would like to give a HUGE shout out to the moms I met who are Greek and said "I don't care where she ends up, as long as she is happy because XYZ may not be right for her when it was for me over 20 years ago." Maybe there isn't going to be a full air invasion of the fwappity fwap fwap.
I also had a mom and daughter randomly show up at my office because they just got into town and were lost. I printed off a map of campus and a schedule because they had such a good attitude for what can be a super stressful time. I also heard that there are likely over 300 women signed up for recruitment, and women were still allowed to sign up today. Quota could end up being close to, if not at 30, crazy. |
