I had my ears pierced as a newborn. There are two sides. My mom figured I would want it done so she had it done by my pediatrician with my first vaccinations. She did that because once kids are older they play with their earrings and they are more likely to get infected or torn. By the time I was a toddler I was use to them. I am also glad because I don't remember the pain-but that's not really a big deal. I agree about the virgin ears. I feel the need to wear earrings every time I leave the house. I think it's a weird fetish-if there are holes they need to be filled. But I probably would have gotten them done anyway.

I have one piercing in each ear and I have my left nipple pierced. If you saw me you would never guess I have my nipple pierced.

I don't really think anything of it when I see people with piercings. To each his own. I do think it's odd when people have everything pierced they possibly can.

The weirdest piercing I have ever seen was that little flap of skin above your top front teeth that connects to the inside of your upper lip. Every time this girl smiled you could see the ball on the hoop. It was kind of creepy. It takes all kinds

winnieb 12-29-2001 06:47 PM

I actually only have my ears pierced. My husband however has both his ears done--he wears 4 gauge hoops or plugs in them--he had them stretched to zero--but it did not look too good so he went back to 4 gauge. He had his tongue pierced for about 2 years and took it out.
I have never been able to get into piercings on myself (but for others that is great) but tattooing is a different story for me....

ECUpirategal 01-03-2002 12:02 AM

I've got my tounge, naval, and eyebrow pierced.........I've been told I look "right" in them.......but hey, to each their own.......I like them, but will prorbably get rid of them soon, as I have to get a job!!!!!!!

SuperSister 01-03-2002 12:21 AM

i got my first holes in my ears when i was 6 as my b-day present. since then i got a second set of holes in my ears and 3 cartilidge piercings in my left ear. i also have both nipples done as well as my clit hood . . . my tounge too. i don't think i look like the type that would have my nipples and clit hood done. they will come out someday. since i start my pre student teaching next semester i will wear a retainer in my tounge most of the time. i can't imagine ever getting rid of my tounge piercing. i've had it done for over 2 years now and i love it.

I don't really like any kind of body piercings. I have my ears pierced and that's it. And I can't stand guys who are pierced. It's just not my thing.

KSigkid 01-04-2002 01:43 AM

I've got two earrings in my left ear - one in the lobe, and one in the upper part of the ear. I'm probably going to end up taking them out when I go looking for a job, but it was kinda an impulse decision. I figured that if at any point I didn't want to have them anymore, I could take them out, the holes would close, and that would be that, kinda a low risk decision on my part. The rest of me is pretty clean-cut, still got the earrings though.

I have a belly bar (silver with a knob on the top and a daisy inside my navel) and one hole in each ear. I had my tongue pierced last summer but it kept annoying me so I took it out.

I can take or leave piercings on men, but I LOVE tattoos on them.

KarenC725 01-04-2002 10:53 AM

I got my ears pierced when I was 18. Then got the cartilege pierced and of course it got infected.

I was going to get my belly button pierced but then thought twice. Just not for me.

Personally, I don't like tounge piercings. They just look weird to me.

sundevil2000 01-04-2002 06:06 PM

Piercings are fun! I have triple piercings in my ears, my tongue, and my belly button pierced. I think tattoos are fun also but they cant just be taken out, they are forever. After my third one I realized that.

newbie 01-04-2002 10:58 PM

Ughh, I don't know what is wrong w/my skin lately. I had to close not only my cartilage piercing, but ALSO my regular ear piercing! My cartilage piercing looked especially awesome, and I am so sad that I no longer have it.

My skin is just too darned sensitive :(.

Hootie 01-30-2002 04:46 PM

So the other night I wake up at 2 am and have to go to the bathroom. When I look down I notice the top of my belly button ring has fallen off. So I frantically go searching through the apartment at 2 am, turning lights on and off because the damn thing is glow-in-the-dark...never did find it!

I got a new bananna belly ring that is a little longer and more comfortable to wear...not the $400 one I want but I'll live!

Anyone else have a similar freakish incident loosing part of your piercing or something?

Oh, that takes me back... When I was in college, I got my nose pierced. I drank a bottle of Boone's and went in to a friend's shop and he did it for me with the same type of gun that they use for ear piercings. However, for a nose piercing, he didn't put the back on the earring. This wasn't a problem, for normal people. It hurt, but it wasn't the end of the world.

Well, that night I was at a big party. I have no idea how I did it, but I knocked the earring out of my nose and it went flying across the room. I had to crawl around to find it, and then go into the bathroom to shove it back in, which hurt like hell. Yeah, that was fun.

I finally ended up putting a tiny hoop in, which looked really cute, but I took it out when I was looking for a job. I wish I still had it, if you want to know the truth.

Reading this all REALLY makes me want to pierce my belly button, BTW.

audra 01-30-2002 08:40 PM

I have my belly button pierced

SATX*APhi 01-31-2002 02:41 AM

I had my tongue pierced twice. I loved it while i had it. One day I just took it out; I do not know why! I may just go back and have it re-pierced. But other than that, no other piercings other than one in each ear lobe.

You should!!!! :D I love mine. After the initial healing it's fine now. And now that I have my new belly ring in I'm more comfortable and it doesn't get caught or irritated like the hoop one did!

Let us know if you do!

I am nervouse about what my mom will say though. She told me I could get a tattoo but NO TONGUE PIERCING!!
TechADPI that little piece of cartilage that pokes out is called a tregus...I've had mine done for a little over a year. It hurt when I got it done and the worse part was the "POP" noise it made when he did it...but it was worth it (Love that thing to death. I also have my navel, tongue (Didn't hurt at all...just lots of ice, cartilage on the top of my left ear, and three regular ear piercings. I really love all my piercings and tattoos. hehe i have 5 tattoos and want about 6-7 more. i have a butterfly on my leg, blue heart in falmes on my back, dragon on my lower back (yes it hurt like hell), dolphin on my thigh, and Chinese letters on my ankel. I want a ladybug on my big toe, a kitty cat on my tummy, another buterfly on my hip, and a few more just don't know where yet.

ZTAMiami 07-12-2002 09:54 AM

I had my tonque pierced about 2 years ago but I took it out last month because I started having shooting pain down to my ear!Nobody seems to know why that happened but I am determined to re-pierce since it has closed up quite a bit.

AOX81 07-12-2002 10:04 AM

Ear piercing #1 (in both ears) when I was in kindergarten
Ear piercing #2 (in both ears) when I was in 8th grade
Ear piercing #3 (right ear) when I was in 10th grade...I did it myself on New Years Eve.

Navel ring - April 1998 (it's permanently attached to my body, it should be interesting if I ever have to take it out)

My husband has been talking about getting his tongue pierced but I don't think that I would like it. Plus, he is a supervisor at a GM plant so I don't think it would be very professional.

I know that this post is a few months old, but I've really been wanting a tiny stud, I want my nose pierced. I'm 21 and a junior so within a year I will be looking for a internship then eventually i'll have a career. I still don't know if I will go with a career in Pr or Criminal justice. I think that if I become a probation officer a pierced nose won't be so bad, but if I go to law school, it could be a problem and probably a problem if I go into PR for nonprofit agenices.
So should i do it? Also is the scar noticeable if i do take it out? I can see the mark from my navel ring, which I took out last May bc I was bored with it.

Any of you have ear plugs?

I think of putting a 12 or 10 gauge one in my left cartilage. 12 and 10 gauge isn't that big at all, but it is a little bigger than the hole that is currently there which 14 gauge.

How much does this stretching hurt?

I have NEVER had any part of my body pierced, including my ears. (I'm in my early 30's) So many people just trip when they realize I have "virgin ears"! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif It comes in handy if I am playing "I Never."

Me either (except I'm even older than you)! I'm too much of a klutz to pierce anything, but one hole in each ear would be all I would have done if I did.

Don't know if this is true, but a friend of mine told me something about the brow piercings that a plastic surgeon told her. He said that when the brow is pierced, they go through tissue and damage it, so when you get old and everything starts drooping, the brow droops really bad and cannot be fixed!

Peaches-n-Cream 06-22-2003 12:09 AM

My mother got her ears pierced at 35. I got mine done at 12.

KillarneyRose 06-22-2003 12:30 AM

My grandma got my ears pierced behind my mom's back for my 7th birthday and she got hers done the same day at age 53! My grandma rocked :)

Peaches-n-Cream 06-22-2003 12:35 AM

Your grandma is cool  and young!

GeekyPenguin 06-22-2003 02:57 AM

I have my ears pierced twice, as does my mom. :) I got my first holes when I was about 8, she did hers in college with an ice cube. We both got our second holes when I was 17.

I have my ears stretched--- i went from a regular earring size to a 12 guage--- about 3 weeks ago i stretched again to a 8 gauge. Your ears will be sore for a few days afterwards--and the eirrings will be very heavy--eventually you will not notice the weight-- i like the stretched ears--- i wear either horseshoes or a cbr. my husband has had his ears stretched to 2's-- but is now back to 8's. As far as the actual stretching it is a little painful.
good luck

My mom had my ears pierced when I was 2 months old. The holes will never close up. Those are the only piercings I have.

PM_Mama00 06-22-2003 10:39 AM

Same with me Leslie, I didn't have the gun or anything. I was like a few weeks old and for Italians, it's like tradition for the baby to get them pierced that young. Anyways the doctor did it with a needle, ice, and a potato. Potato? yeah I duno. But they will NEVER close up. My 2nd holes won't either, even tho I never wear earrings in them. I duno why not. Then on my left ear I have two cartilage piercings... one with a gun and one with a needle. The needle hurt like hell but it's safer than the gun.

I had my tongue pierced but my mom screamed at me and I had to take it out not even 24 hours later. I REALLY wana get it pierced again! I want something pierced. I'd love to get my belly button pierced but I'm too big for that. Nose would be cool too but my parents would hate that! UGH for traditional Italian parents!

lindsay_iu 06-23-2003 04:13 AM

I did have my ears stretched. I actually had them pierced at a 10, then immediately stretched to an 8. With the weight of the cbr's, I was able to fit 6 guage plugs in within a few months after they healed. I eventually stretched to a 2. The piercing hurt like a mother, but the stretching wasn't so bad. Yeah, it did hurt, but it's definitely not unbearable. My left ear was a little harder to stretch the last time, but I think that was because of some weird scar tissue.

I personally love metal eyelets. The weight of cbr's didn't suit me, and when I wore talons I always got my hair or sleeves caught on them.

ADPiSAI 06-23-2003 11:43 PM

I'm a big fan of piercings... I think they're fun! Though some people get some that just don't look right on them at all, but as long as they like them, who cares? I can't say I've ever been a fan of bellybutton piercings, though everyone else seems to like them.
Anyway, mine:
earlobes 3 times each (got them when I was 8, 14, & 17, respectively)
cartilage in both ears (my 'I'm 18 so I can poke holes in myself without parental consent' adventure -- btw, NEVER get both done at the same time! it's just a bad idea. didn't hurt to get it pierced, just to sleep on...)
both ear heads (this past March. I've never seen another person with these done -- anyone else have them?)

I had my nose done for a few months (Jan-Apr '03), but I took it out before I came home from school because my dad would have disowned me. Oh well -- it was fun while it lasted!

Out of curiousity, what's an ear head?
I have two holes in each ear, and then two in my right cartilage. I want to get my left tregus pierced, too, but that'll probably have to wait until after rush. Word is that we're going to have to take out all our piercings during rush except for one set of earrings -- they're gonna get hell from everyone if they try to enforce that one!!!

here's a picture of one... it's the one with the ring (obviously, since the other 2 are pretty standard) :)

um, and if that link doesn't work, try

I don't think our chapter ever could decide to make us take out all our piercings for rush... we're a pretty pierced group there!

If it's not that much of a stretch you can do it yourself. The trick is to get into a hot shower and AS SOON AS YOU GET OUT try putting in the larger earing. The heat helps your skin expand and it's less painful...also some potrollium (sp) jelly will help it slide into the piercing. Hope that helps...I know it sounds weird and kinda strange but it worked for my bellybutton. Hope that helps :)

KappaKittyCat 06-24-2003 07:03 PM

I've got one hole in each ear and a stud in my nose. For the nose, I get tiny CZs in 14K gold at the Icing and bend the post to a 90º angle. It's very subtle-- my second graders didn't even notice 'til the last day of school-- and I take it out when I'm around my parents or applying for a "grown-up job."

PrincessHeather 06-27-2003 03:48 AM

I have 10.

In my ears:
1st holes: when I was 10; because I was "old" enough for them:rolleyes:
2nd holes: 8th grade graduation present from my aunt. (it made my dad so mad. hee hee)
3rd holes: for my 18th birthday. (sometime that month)
4th hole left ear: for one of my bf 18th birthday (it is inbetween my lobes and cartilage)
4th hole right ear: for my guy bf 18th birthday (my cartilage)
and my left tregus: spring break last year

and I have my belly button (did it in Hawaii on my senior trip in High School)

I don't really know why, but I've always gotten pierced with some kind of reasoning behind it. (like doing the belly button in Hawaii.. I had to do it so I'd always remember my trip...I'm a nerd I know :) ) Anyone else do this?

rainbowbrightCS 06-27-2003 09:18 AM

at one time (about a year ago, but i took them out)
i had these piercings
daith
tragus
tongue
navel
two helix
12 loobes

so that's 18 in all, plus two tatts

I know im weird, but now i only have 2 lobes, my two helix, my daith, my tragus, and my navel. every thing else is gone, i still have my tatts!
