The final scene with Des on the phone was sweet!

Supposed to be six seasons. From what I have read, from the producers/writers, this season is supposed to be the Oceanic Six leaving the island. Season 5 is why they have to get back to the island and the actual return to the island. Season 6 is them back on the island and leaving again.

Last night's episode was awesome. Penny is Desmond's constant and Desmond is Daniel's constant. How strange but cool

I had tears in my eyes when Desmond was having that conversation with Penny and she said that she'd find him one way or the other and then they said they loved each other. I just cried.

Did you guys catch how Desmond "crashed" that auction, and the painting of the ship being auctioned off was the "Black Rock" from the collection of that Hanso guy (who was behind the Dharma Initiative)? Wasn't Rousseau on the Black Rock or something like that? What if she's been on the island for 100 years+, but because the island is in a weird timewarp, she hasn't aged? I'm confused.

And yes, the scene of Desmond talking to Penny at the end was very bittersweet.

Hmmm... I thought one of the major "reveals" of the most recent episode was to demonstrate that the island is not time-challenged. The fact that Des made the phone call on Christmas Eve, 2004 suggests that it's Christmas Eve everywhere... including the island.

I think time gets all out of whack when people travel to/from the island. That's why Dan kept insisting that the pilot follow precise bearings.

Wow I din't see that about the painting of the ship. And no that is not Claire baby Eathen, I think she said Evan I watched it twice and close but not the same name. Tomorrow is another episode.

As for Michael, I figured it was him weeks ago when Ben first said he had a spy on the boat. As for Walt, somebody said in an earlier post that he was also on the boat. He can't be though. Remember, Locke said he got his orders to kill Naomi from Walt? Which leads me to think Walt is somehow related to the Jacob guy in some way.

The weird thing is Micheal said not to trust the Captain but his information is more trustworthy than Ben, so I have no idea now who is telling the truth!

Yeah, the thing about the date on Jin's tombstone...aren't they in 2006 in the "present" on the island? Like when Desmond is having his weird time travel issues, don't they tell him it's 2006? So...the tombstone says Jin died before he did?

So, is this another alternate reality?

Question is too...what happened with Hurley being in a mental institution before and now we see him 'normal' with Sun going to Jin's grave?

They're still in 2004. Actually she would give birth in 2005 since she's 2 months pregnant by Christmas 2004.

We know Hurley goes to the hospital after he's back and before Jack grows a beard but we don't know the exact timeline. Presumably it's after July 2005 that he enters the hospital again.

Yes, we know Jin could not have died Sept. 2004 as his tombstone states because Desmond calls Penny Dec. 24, 2004 while Jin is very much alive. I don't get it all, but I believe he's alive. His flashback during Sun's flashforwad had me confused until the end.

Perhaps Jin chose to go to Locke's camp, and he and Sun parted ways for whatever reason. To the outside world, he would have been presumed dead 9/22/04 when in fact, he is still actually on the island.

Yeah, I was thinking something like that. I don't Jin is really dead. Sun didn't actually say "when you died" or "when you stayed behind" or anything like that sooo I dunno!

She only said she missed him and that she felt like he was with her during the delivery. Perhaps he sacrificed himself by staying on the island so she could leave & have the baby safely? Who knows but I don't really believe he's dead.

I am watching it again with my sister, since she has not seen it yet, and it, and I don't think he is dead...

I'm assuming that Aaron is the 6th member of the Oceanic 6. Hurley, Kate, Jack, Sayid, Sun, and Aaron.

I'm bitter because I missed Wednesday's episode and no, I can't watch it via ABC.com because it's only available to you guys in the United States (I tried!). I wonder how the ABC website "knows"??

Yeah, I thought about that but he wasn't a passenger in a seat (or born...) on Oceanic, so I don't think he counts. That also leaves out any of the Others counting as the six.

I agree. I don't think Aaron counts. Maybe it could be Micheal if nothing happens to him on the boat. He was on the flight.

So I am guessing Juliette will not get off the island because how could they explain her being on the island already without giving it away? Also how does Ben get off? And who is the dude in the coffin that Jack went to the empty funeral parlor to see from the end of last season!!!

Juliette was not on the plane, nor was Desmond. It's plausible that they get off the island, but are not part of the Oceanic 6.

I think the sixth person was whoever died. I think it is Michael and no one went to the funeral because he betrayed them on the boat.

Aaron is an O6. I was just re-reading an article in which the producers said we would know the complete list at the end of episode 7.
