I say we protest. Any founder or member of a new organization that was obviously founded because of having the "itis," which includes having the "I'm not creative or willing to work hard so I will just copy from already existing orgs" syndrome, will be ignored. That's right...don't answer their posts or reply to anything they communicate. Just act like they don't exist. Who's with me???!!! LOL!

Hello to all, I am at a very small school in Minnesota and have been talking with some friends and thought about a sorority since there had never been one before I came for some ideas
|
Also I don't have the so called "itis", I know the defintion of hard work and dedication, what philanthropy is, and also sisterhood. I could really used some ideas on how to get started. Thanks!

I'm NOT translating that.

BTW: "really rapes in community service" is one of the more offensive things I've seen on here in a long time, and I'm fairly hard to offend. |

Dickhead got banned anyway so the point is moot. |
Is it possible he meant that they really RAKE in community service as in they do a lot of it?
Fingers crossed. |
^^ No, he's intentionally offensive.

If you didn't want to stay with KBG for the long haul, why did your chapter colonize with them?? Why didn't you stay local? If you weren't allowed to stay local, why did you just use them to stay recognized on campus? I sincerely hope this is only coming from your head and is not representative of the rest of your chapter sisters. If it is only coming from your head, you probably need to resign as soon as possible. P.S. There are members of your national board who post here occasionally. You might want to scale back the word vomit. |

If your chapter colonized with KBG only to stay on/get on campus, and are willing to dump them at the drop of a hat for an NPC group, that pretty much is the definition of "using." If you as an individual don't like the fact that your sorority is non-NPC, and are using it as an excuse for poor rush results, you probably need to resign as soon as possible. xoxo, Rude Ass Bitch |
Hello,
I just wanted to clarify what she meant. We weren't using KBG to get on campus, we were a campus recognized organization before we were KBG. At the time, our founders did seek national status, but at the time did not have the requirements to become an NPC organization (obviously.) They sought recognition by another NPC organization, but that also didn't work out. All our founders wanted was national recognition with a sorority that held similar ideals. Then they found Kappa Beta Gamma. The #1 reason why girls at our school don't want to join us is because because they know we're not an NPC organization on our campus, as opposed to DZ, AST, and ASA (who just came to our campus a year ago). While we love our chapter, and we all worked hard to get where we are, our time on our campus is questionable. While I'm not personally sure about the idea of being absorbed, I can understand her frustration. |

1) My sorority had been local years before they picked KBG. And don't bring my other sisters into this because like I said from the beginning, I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW! I mean, Phi Mu came to our school last year with the intention of colonizing. But we're still here as KBG so we're not using anyone. 2) You're making up things that aren't even there. What organization is going to colonize with my sisters just because one person wants it? You probably come from some sorority with like 150 girls in your cutesy sorority house and Barbie dream cars. Bitch, outta my face. I work hard for my girls and I want them to have what rightly belongs to them. People who are already sitting under the big beach umbrella that is NPC wouldn't understand. Isn't your job as a moderator to make sure that I get my questions answered? All I wanted was a simple question answered. So thanks for nothing, Rude Ass Bitch. |

My job as a moderator is to moderate specific forums...not to help you find a way to dump your sorority for something brighter and shinier. Phi Mu was going to colonize with another local sorority. It had NOTHING to do with your local or KBG. "What rightly belongs to them"? What the heck does that mean? I'm sorry you have issues with girls wanting an NPC, but for lack of a better way to put it...you (your sisters who chose to colonize with KBG you) made your bed, so lie in it. Perhaps they should have done a little more research and held out for an NPC group. That doesn't mean it's cool to dump KBG though. It's not. They are a national sorority even if they're not NPC. (You might want to ask the school to take that little asterisk off the website...it's blatantly discriminatory). You are TOTALLY right about the Barbie dream cars and giant gorgeous house though!!! :D :D Now it's time for me to go tan and then figure out which Prada purse to carry tomorrow. |

If a woman wants to join an NPC organization, then she probably shouldn't look into your sorority and end up disappointed. If you aren't finding interested women, it's because you're not looking hard enough, representing your organization proudly enough, and/or personally connecting with women who might be interested. Based on your attitude, I wouldn't want to be your sister. |
