^^^^I can't remember the air force chick but I do remember the guy who just had the baby. If he wasn't doing the Beyonce vibrato so much he would have been alright...I was kind of hoping he would do well because he seemed really nice...
LOL...what about the guy who came on like almost right after "tight-n-bright" who was arguing with Simon about how he could sing and told them that the show was rigged and what not...I was laughing so hard watching him sing... |
I thought the air force woman was far better than the girl who had the abstinence speech but they said she was too Cabaret and not a pop singer. I really liked her.
|
Totally agree with you, Dee!
|
Me three. I would have rathered her over ms. abstinence any day. That wasn't a fair deal.

Mike sings that song to annoy me. LOL! :p |
"I can't wait to prove Simon wrong, because I am America's Next Top Model."
|
Can I just say that ....
.... Paula seemed to be high tonight or otherwise incapacitated! She was nodding and gazing off and hiccupping and eyes out of focus ... out of control! ....never seen anything like it ----trippy:eek:

I'm just not feelin' it this year, dawg!
|
Why doesn't somebody bump this earlier in the day on Tuesdays so I remember to watch???
Sorry, but the brain is getting fuzzy in my old age! |

ETA: AGDee, it is on tomorrow. Set your alarm. But, Nittanyalum is right. I'm getting tired of the auditions |
You aren't missing much, I'm bored of the auditions by now. I wish they would just start with Hollywood week, they can flash back to some auditions if they really, really feel the need. But by now, it's all been done and we all know they're just letting the goofy people through trying to make "good tv". But the joke's old.

I feel for little Josiah and I think he has a great story, I just wish I liked his voice more. I actually don't think he's very good at all.
I LOVE the Australian Michael guy from Buckhead. He is amazing!!! Oh, and the young 16 year old dark-haired guy, he's amazing too. |
I can't believe they put that Josiah kid through...he broke the rules by not singing with the band and then he had an absolutely SH*TTY performance. He's going to be the Sanjaya of this season.
On a brighter note, I love Australian Michael, the Irish Girl, the Rocker Nurse, and the 16-year old dark haired kid. And, there was another guy (maybe hispanic?) that they showed near the beginning of the show that was also great. |
Yes, I like the rocker nurse too! And the girl from Atlanta who had just lost her Dad. Oh! And the girl that had lost her voice but still had a great final audition. I like a lot of them, I guess, it will be interesting to see who they put in the top 24!!
|
I didn't get to see my friend from high school tonight, maybe he was in earlier. I really just want to see who is in the top.

I love how at 3:56 Simon says she's possibly the most annoying person he'd ever met in his life. I have to agree she was grating on the nerves. And singing-wise, I thought it was a fair cut tonight. |
i actually know buck from when i went to georgia southern
|
I was bummed they cut Joey. He was ill, but I still think he sang well enough to make it through.
(He was the very first audition on the first day that sang "Sunday Morning" and last night he sang before the black girl who was losing her voice). |

One was an Irish girl with a guitar and the other was a hispanic musician too. If I remember correctly. I'd hate for this to be true, but after the last couple seasons and what's happened, they may be trying to swing things. :( |

I don't doubt AI planting people. The show has produced some very unsuccessful contestants over the past few years. Taylor Hicks never did much of anything, Katherine McPhee was dropped by the label as well as Ruben. |
I am really happy with the people they put through to the top 24 (and also those they didn't).
I am glad David Hernandez made it even though it was not unanimous. :) |
The Irish girl is now being criticized because back in 2001, she was signed by a major record label, put out a CD but it flopped miserably.
The criticism is that the show is supposed to be for undiscovered talent and not people that have had a shot or been signed before. |

I don't have any gripes about the female side, they all seem very talented and no one annoys me (so far ;)), although I don't remember hearing 2 or 3 of the final 12 ever sing, so we'll see. I like the little itty bitty girl with the huge voice, I think she'll do well. On the guys' side, I first of all am MEGA impressed that they didn't put little Josiah and his sad story through. I liked him on his first audition show but was really annoyed by him at the end of Hollywood week. Like someone else said, he could have been this season's "Sanjaya", keep getting the sympathy vote through and just annoy, annoy, annoy for weeks. So, yay, no Josiah. I do think that Danny kid is going to get old quickly, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Michael Johns, the Australian, and I think that little 16-year-old will do well. And the long-haired rocker dude had a much prettier voice than I expected to hear come out of him, he might do well. Oh, and I'm glad they let David Hernandez through too, I thought he had a great audition. Every season I tell myself I'm going to stop watching this show, but then every season, I get sucked in.... and here I am, I can't wait for next week! :) |
I've only picked up bits and pieces of this season, but the one who has stood out most to me is the Janice Joplin sound-alike. I think they said she was a nurse

Personally, I don't have an issue with any of the people who appeared on other TV shows (like Jason Yeager - Making The Band, Jason Castro - Cheyenne, Syesha Mercado - The One) or those who have opened up for musical acts I have never heard of (Brooke White for Phil Vassar...who?), but it sucks that Idol is breaking their own rules and allowing people who have record deals or ties to other artists into the competition. As much as I like Carly and Michael's voices, it does lower my opinion of them. I'm surprised the website didn't make a bigger deal about Robbie Carrico (of the pop group Boyz and Girlz United). Sure, they weren't that popular but they were probably one-rung down from O-Town or S Club 7. |
I dug David Cook just now. I loved his song and execution of the song...he gotta fix the hair and scruff though.
|
^^Agreed! I was one more boring song away from changing the channel until he came on.
|
How did that Leif Garrett-looking kid even get past the auditions???????
|
Yeah, I feel sorry for him though...we haven't even seen him until now...there is no way he'll get voted through.
|
Wow, most of those performances last night where BORING.
I liked all three Davids (Hernandez, Cook, and Archuleta). I also liked Danny's and Robbie's performances. Going Home? Luke and Jason (or, alternately, Garrett). They were sub-par and haven't had any screentime. |
Please explain what was so great about the guy with dreads... I was in a coma while he performed

I hope the girls can bring it tonight cause the boys were a snoozefest. The first guy(?) had a good voice but no stage presence, Chikeze was prety good vocally but he looks 40 and was talking back(hopefulyl someone gets to him and tell him to tone it down before its too late), I cant even remember who was next. That 17 year old David was good but I wasnt as floored as the judges... everybody else was boring and the last guy was decent but again I wasnt wowed.
