I cried at a few different scenes in it and my friend was making fun of me, glad I'm not the only one.

Charlotte during the limo/town car scene was fabulous. Do NOT get her angry.
I can't wait to see it again next week :)

RaggedyAnn 05-30-2008 05:41 PM

Loved the Charlotte scene!

I am so-o going to host a SATC party with cock/mocktails this summer. I went with my friend who had never even seen the show...yeah, she'll be renting all the videos now! The new TV version is just too virgin. I felt so bad for the two men that were dragged into the film. The theater was pretty full for a 1:00 in the afternoon show!

Benzgirl 05-30-2008 06:10 PM

I'm dying guys, I'm dying.

DreamfulSpirit 05-30-2008 06:28 PM

Charlotte is just amazing!! I love the how she was like "I've always been on your side!!"

"I curse the day you were born!!!"

I actually cried more the second time around, lol.

luv n tpa 05-30-2008 10:06 PM

I have to say that while I loved the story, acting, fabulousness, etc, the poor editing kinda killed it for me. I mean, half of the time the audience was laughing from the mic hanging over their heads. And I'm not sure if it was just my theater, but the camera angles were horrendous for some shots, capturing chin to ceiling, or even cutting off parts of their faces. =/

DreamfulSpirit 05-30-2008 10:17 PM

LOL...anyone catch all the microphones that they didn't edit out, that were coming in from the top of the shots???? It was mostly towards the beginning...they got better at catching those about half way through!

texas*princess 05-30-2008 11:21 PM

I didn't notice the microphones? I guess I was way too into what was going on.

I love Charlotte to pieces. I saw the movie with my best friend and we laughed, and we cried.

Hmmmm there was no cutting off parts of faces that I saw? I don't remember chin to ceiling shots either

I was proud of Charlotte. If I was the friend I would have beat his ass! I was sooooo mad at him.

OK......Miranda needed her ass whooped! PERIOD! Yeah Big has always been flaky, but still. That is all I am going to say for now.

OMG......STEVE!

Oh...Charlotte sharting her pants......LMAO!

1908Revelations 05-31-2008 12:45 AM

You know the sad part about this.....the show is finally over.:(

Yes, but I'm still glad they decided to give us, the fans, this closure that we needed. It was such a great ride!

I totally didn't catch that! I too was way too into the action. I'll have to look for it when I see it again :D

kdonline 05-31-2008 01:26 AM

I saw the movie today at 9:30am, with my 10 week old daughter. (Yeah, she's kind of young! ;) ) But the movie was showing at the local theater's "Baby Day at the Movies."

I loved the movie!!

Funny thing - my sister, who lives in Miami, called me shortly after the movie started (I had my phone on vibrate). I figured she went to the 10am showing over there & wanted to rub it in...but I texted her that I was watching it myself!

MandyPepperidge 05-31-2008 01:35 AM

I just got back from seeing it and I though it was wonderful, albeit VERY over the top. Everything was 10x more ostentatious than the show. Loved the ending!!

Except for the fact that they've already started writing the sequel or so the rumor goes! Supposedly, if this one is a hit, they will make two more installments. Personally, I'd love them to leave it as is. This was a perfect conclusion to tie up everything from the series finale.

MahoganyJpoet 05-31-2008 03:55 AM

Just saw the movie! It was packed they had to open up two addition theatres to accomodate for all the people. However, the movie was awesome. I am not sure if I was feeling Jennifer Hudsons character that much. But anyway, I laughed and I cried, the movie was well worth it :D

Yeah, I don't know that two more installments of closure is really needed. Yeah they could make boatloads of money off it but SJP always said they wanted to go out while they were still popular and not linger on, which is why they were so against a movie for the longest time. As much as I want to see more, I don't know that it would stay as good and then it would be ruined. I mean, if Carrie ends up pregnant it would totally change the show's vibe, for example. I'd go see it if another movie came out but really, we know how the story ends so I don't think we need another movie, or two.

Benzgirl 05-31-2008 11:24 AM

SATC won't jump the shark.

I didn't like Jennifer Hudson's character either. Honestly, the girl can sing, but I don't think she makes a great actress.

Re: the sequel(s) I don't think any sequel is neccessary. What else can they possibly do to the characters that wouldn't be completely over the top?

ZTAngel 05-31-2008 11:41 AM

I feel like they already tied up all the loose ends so I don't see a need for a sequel. The show is about single girls but only one remained unmarried.

I liked the movie. I just couldn't believe how long it was. I didn't expect to be walking out of the theater after 1am!

DSTCHAOS 05-31-2008 12:04 PM

I loved it. :D

And we looked ohhhhhh soooo fantabulous when we saw it. The show ended at 11:30 and then we headed out to the grown folks' spot.

unspokenone25 05-31-2008 12:32 PM

I saw the 9:30 showing which turned into the 10:20 showing. That movie theater was not prepared for the onslaught of women that showed and plus, some byotch decided to buy out the theater for two hours to have a Cosmo party.

I laughed and cried about four or five times. It was so worth the wait. And I loved Big's proposal. You guys were right. That shoe was very very very important. It was a GREAT movie and made me want to have a conversation with my "Big".

As much as I LOVE SATC if they make more it would just be weird. What would happen? Big would probably fcuk up again. Samantha would be a whore.....OMG.....she only slept with one man in the whole movie:eek:.

If they come out with more....I would go to see them, but it would just drag it out kinda like Micheal Jordan going back to hoop. lol

ok I read "9:30" as the am.. you're probably right... lol

Thetagirl218 05-31-2008 04:31 PM

I saw it late last night! It was amazing! I think I will have to see it again to get it all to sink in all though! I wanted to just hit Big, he was such a wus!

I loved the scene with Charlotte and Big! And of course I loved those shoes!

I actually liked Jennifer Hudson's character! I think she can act, I just didn't like how they fit her character in the later part of the movie! It just seemed weird her coming in the second part!

I am glad we got some old apartment scenes! :)

Taualumna 06-01-2008 12:10 AM

Just came back from the show (I managed to score tickets for tonight...the Junior League conference finished in the afternoon (for the day, anyway....there's still another component tomorrow))...I have to say that I've never seen so many people actually dressed UP for a movie, especially at a 6:50 pm showing. You could tell which people were going to SATC.

"I curse the day you were born!" OMG! LOVE THAT LINE...

I cried during the Smith & Samantha scene :(

u rock!

i am taking my 7 month old one day this week in the morning lol! babysitters are scarce and i have got to go see SATC, i wish my local theatre had a baby day! that would be awesome!

Proverbs31 06-01-2008 12:37 PM

I LOVED every second of it!!!! Michael Patrick King did such a great job with the writing. I really hope they make a sequel, I'm not ready to say goodbye yet! :(

I'm going to see it again next weekend. :D

I didn't notice any of the bad editing either.

JennRN 06-01-2008 12:59 PM

I saw it last night!!! I really liked it-the shoes and the fashion!! My friends and I "oohhhhhhhh" everytime a dress came on screen. I also really loved the blue that Carrie painted the apartment in!! Very gorgeous!

The limo scene-so powerful. It made me hold my breath and I cried during it. Very intense.

Also, where was that resort in Mexico because I want to go there now!!!!

BetteDavisEyes 06-01-2008 02:48 PM

I was bawling when she wailed on Big with the bouquet of roses. I just sobbed. I also cried when Samantha was spoon feeding her at the resort. It broke my heart. :(

The shoes though. How totally Carrie and appropriate to get shoes instead of a ring. LOL!

IlovemyAKA 06-01-2008 02:59 PM

lol--I caught a mic towards the end when SJP was reading her emails. It was right over her head.

Yea I was definitely teary eyed during those scenes too. Though, in the limo scene I did start laughing at the end... I just couldn't help it. The way Charlotte was staring down big as she waddled to the other side of the car was too hilarious.

The scenes where she was sleeping and being spoon fed made me cry too... as well as the "Auld Lang Syne" scenes.

I got the soundtrack, and I was disappointed that the Ciara song (when she was doing the bridal couture photoshoot) was not on there!!! Boo on that.

BTW = the soundtrack is 9.98 at Target

ETA -- Maybe I didn't catch this... but didn't Carrie buy that pair of shoes herself? I remember Louise (Jenn. Hudson) telling her over the phone that she better go get them b/c they were $525 shoes. If she did buy them, is it weird that Big gave her shoes that she bought herself? Or did they get to keep the badass closet?

She had them in a bag when she went to go look at her new closet so I'm assuming she had just bought them and then left them there.

ZTABullwinkle 06-01-2008 07:27 PM

I went and saw this by myself today (couldn't convince the Mr. to go with me.) I am so glad I went. I teared up, laughed and throroughly enjoyed the movie. Now, I am going to pull out my box set of all the seasons and rewatch them. It was so nice to see how they were able to tie in outfits from the TV show into the movie. I LOVED IT!

Yes!!! You could just feel Carrie's pain when she was wailing on Big-I just immediately started crying. And then the way she collapses on Charlotte who is like, "NO!!NO!!!!". Oh! I tear up thinking about it.

Yes, the spoon feeding part made me so sad-I was like-do I have friends that would do that for me??

texas*princess 06-01-2008 07:54 PM

I think I'm going to have to watch it again :D

DreamfulSpirit 06-02-2008 01:02 AM

Just saw it for the second time tonight...brought a friend who'd never seen the show and now she's like I need to watch the show!! I think I noticed my friend crying when Steve and Miranda meet on the Brooklyn Bridge.

I will watch this movie over and over and over....:D
