Right now I don't have a vehicle to technically call my own :( My old car--a 1987 Ford Tempo--died a few weeks ago. Nothing great to speak of obviously, but she was still mine and she really hadn't given me much trouble. My dad has been nice enough to let me have his '96 Mustang though until I can afford to buy a good car of my own

alphaxidelta12 11-25-2001 01:47 AM

i drive a 99 white mustang w/ tinted windows. its a pretty good little car (i like that its a standard b/c the get up and go is much better!) but i would love to have a cobra. hopefully that will happen after graduation!!!

PKTSU01 11-25-2001 10:20 AM

97 Camry CLE, but I'm going to bump up to a Maxima when I can, the V6 is just one of the best out there, and a 4 cylinder has no kick to it.

Eirene_DGP 11-25-2001 01:31 PM

When I am at home, I drive my '98 Champagne Toyota Corolla. Notice I said at home. After putting over $5,000 worth of payments into it, my parents will not let me drive it because I cannot afford the payments and college (they paid it off).

After College I hope to have a Toyota Rav 4 or Toyota Celica.

Eirene, Toyotas are great cars. All I have ever had are VWs and Toyotas, and they are both fantastic. My first new car was my little red 1990 Celica that I got for my 18th birthday. I drove it until 1997 and performancewise it was still like new. (Note I say performancewise....I had beaten the crap out of Scarlett's poor little cute body.) I also have to speak up on behalf of the VWs, though. Scarlett is still on the road, but my very first car ever, an '85 Golf (the very first model year for that car) is also still out there. The body is just pathetic now, but I guarantee you the engine is still sweet as cream. It's gotta have close to 200K on it by now.

My parents bought me a new black Honda Civic a few months ago and I love it! It's so easy to drive and comfortable. It's also fun because there are so many add ons and things I can ad to it (ex. spoilers, etc,)

Before the civic I had a Mazda miata and I loved that too but it didn't like the cold weather much so I only drive it during the summers now. Thats the plan atleast.

dzsaigirl 11-25-2001 11:26 PM

I got my green Honda Civic 2 years ago and I love it. Goes well with my crest sticker :)

SATX*APhi 11-26-2001 07:21 PM

I drive a 2001 red Hyundai Accent. It is not the best vehicle, I know. But being that I bought my car on my own without my parents' consent, it is all that I could afford. It is very cute though! Surprisingly, I get a lot of compliments on it. ':)'

ladolcevita 04-23-2002 08:19 PM

I have 2 cars. The car I drive most in the winter is my 98' dark red Land Rover Discovery, which was my first car. My boyfriend has a matching white one so it's really cute.
And the car I am driving right now is a 2000 black Saab 9-3 convertible...which has been modified with performance parts...very fun.
I must say, I am a car person to a fault. But my father collects antique Mercedes-Benz automobiles...so I guess it's genetic. And now that they are available in the US...my dad is getting a mercedes G-WAGON! with matte brush bar of course!!

I have a 2000 red Hyundai Accent. Not my favorite car because it is so small but I could afford it on my own. A lot of people like it though.

I drive my "Janie Bug" :) My 2001 New Beetle GLS with "Cyber Green" metallic exterior and black leather interior. I went ahead and got the sport and cold weather packages. I LOVE my car! Even if it doesn't fit more than four people in it!

I currently drive a 1995 Saturn SC2, purple, with plates that say RAVNCLW (Harry Potter fans, unite). It has more cupholders (6) than seats (4).

However, at the end of the model year I hope to purchase a 2002 VW Cabrio with a CLOTH interior, b/c it gets darn hot here in SoCal.

chopper816 04-24-2002 12:04 AM

I have a 94 pontiac firebird. all i have done is put in a K&N air filter and i have flowmaster exhaust. This summer im going to try to put on a ram air hood. I also am hoping to get a used explorer or f-150 before the winter.

well, up until early march, i had an 85 ranger rustbucket. however, now (even though i still have that truck) i'm driving a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. It's soooooo much cooler and nicer to drive! I know what you're gonna say Tom :) I like it though!

AOX81 04-24-2002 07:51 AM

I drive a silver 2001 Sunfire and a silver Z06 Corvette.

UofISigKap 04-24-2002 08:23 AM

I drive my '90 blue Honda Civic. I bought it used, so I didn't pick the specs, but it has these "bad" looking tinted windows and the cheap looking plastic chrome hubcaps. Yuck! The sound system is by far its saving grace!
Suprisingly it runs pretty well and hasn't given me much trouble...after I replaced a few hoses, tires, brakes, and numerous other things. The guy who I bought it from got rid of it at the right time, that's for sure. I'm just bitter I didn't have him take it through the VA inspection and have everything replaced first or taken his asking price down a few dollars.

95 Toyota 4-Runner.... (Red, sunroof, all the amenities)

I'll just have to say that in the future when I'm buying SUV's I'm staying American. No complaints about the quality (as far as breakdowns) but it's real slow and the first time I took the thing mudding I got it stuck (NEVER had been stuck in my old 88 Blazer).

My friends had no luck pulling me out either, had to pay a towing company like $130 to drive across the street onto this private property at like 5AM to pull me out...

That teaches me to go mudding at the bottom of what I thought was a semi-dried up pond in a Japanese SUV....

V6 on ANY truck/SUV is pointless. ALWAYS get the V8... Not offered on the 4-Runner back then (just the Land Cruiser if you want to pay that kind of $$).

Next car = something like a Tahoe... late 90's model because the new body style is bunk. AND I think they offer a 454 in it.

I can't drive a normal car very well... keep running up on the curb on turns. SUV's and trucks have the ground clearance -- that makes it not sting so bad (and you can play it off like you did it on purpose).

As I'm sure I posted before, I drive a piece-of-crap 1995 Mitsubishi Galant. I call it the "Squeal-Mobile" because it has these belt problems that never seem to stay fixed, and the car makes squeaky noises at low speeds.

As its nearing 100K, and just getting to be more upkeep than its worth, my mom is looking into buying a new car for herself (she said she wants an old lady car - a Buick Century) and I'll get her '98 Mazda 626. I LOVE that car. It actually has PICKUP (unlike the Galant). And a CD player. Can't wait to get it :D

I'm still holding out for my Jetta though - maybe when I graduate from Law School

Optimist Prime 04-24-2002 03:12 PM

Maybe i posted this but can't remember. I have a 2000 S10. I like it. Its not very fast. I thought about adding performance parts to it, but then I remembered I'm comfortable with the size of penis. ;)

My dream car...hhmmm...i don't know. I love my truck.

ZetaLuvBunny 04-24-2002 03:22 PM

Yaaaay!

I'm *FINALLY* getting a car next week! Woo-hoo! It's not new or fancy-schmancy, but it's a 1997 teal Pontiac Sunfire & it's so CUUUUTE! I've made it into the "Zetamobile" :D b/c it has three dif. Zeta stickers on it, an MTSU sticker, and mini stuffed animal mascots from my chapter (the bunny) and school (a winged horse) in the back window. I'm also going to buy a ZTA plate frame for it. Sadly, I had a customized vanity plate made for it (with a crown, ZTA, and my name on it) & then realized there's NO PLACE TO PUT IT Grrrr  Oh, well, I guess I can paint over my name & put my lil's name on it (whoever that may be) for next year LOL. Also, I'm going to save up to get a keyless (remote) entry system and a CD player for the car.

ladolcevita 06-06-2002 08:33 PM

what the guy above said about four runners is sooo true.
and still they are still so popular-probably becuase they have never been taking offroad or into some real mud.

our white land rover discovery has been fabulous...and we have really beat on it! we also have a defender 90 from land rover but that does not go seriously mudding..due to the price paid....

I just bought my first new car in March after I finally saved up a down payment. It's a cranberry 2002 Saturn SL1. :) I love my car sooooooo much! It's especially nice after my last 2 hand-me-down cars, which were a 1987 T-bird (aka the boat) and a 1992 baby blue Dodge Caravan (aka the Mom Mobile, blech!).

juniorgrrl 06-07-2002 01:24 AM

My mom finally settled on a Accord, so I now have another car - 98 mazda 626. Yay!
