You see a bird sitting on a twig. How do you get the twig without disturbing the bird?

Someone asked this at a party once...

You wait until it flies off on its own.

I did too. I thought that riddle was pretty lame after I found out the answer.

This is a story about a girl.
While at the funeral of her own mother, she met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much the dream guy that she was searching for that she fell in love with him immediately.

However, she never asked for his name or number and afterward could not find anyone who knew who he was.

A few days later the girl killed her own sister.

Question: Why did she kill her sister?

Durrr so there would be another funeral.

These aren't even really "riddles" anymore, are they?

They both have the same amount of $$
This question is like - Which weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?

A house has 4 sides that all face south - a bear walks by - what color is the bear?

By the way, I hate to harp on this, but this isn't even the correct form of this riddle. It actually goes "A few days later, the woman's sister dies mysteriously. What happened to the sister?"

RU OX Alum 07-09-2008 11:17 AM

Also, isn't that the question they ask to deterimine if you are a serial killer or not?

How did Mark legally marry three women in Michigan, without divorcing any of them, becoming legally separated, or any of them dying?

He was a polygamist?

AGDee 01-24-2011 03:19 PM

Polygamy is NOT legal in Michigan.

AlphaFrog 01-24-2011 03:22 PM

Mark is a pastor - he married the women to other men.

AGDee 01-24-2011 03:23 PM

Good Job AF :)

DaemonSeid 01-24-2011 03:26 PM

AGDee 01-24-2011 03:29 PM

Mom and Dad have four daughters, and each daughter has one brother. How many people are in the family?

7, Mom, Dad, 4 daughters and ONE brother.

You almost got me, thinking the trick would be remembering mom & dad.

AGDee 01-24-2011 03:38 PM

Good job to both of you :) DS hasn't been able to get a single riddle right yet, here or on Facebook where we are having a riddle war.

AGDee 01-24-2011 03:39 PM

You have a barrel of oil, and you need to measure out just one gallon. How do you do this if you only have a three-gallon container and a five-gallon container?

This is the one he's struggling with right now on FB.

DaemonSeid 01-24-2011 03:41 PM

I said you can use either container as you only need 1 gallon, or use a measuring cup!

DaemonSeid 01-24-2011 03:43 PM

uh uh....not the pour the three into 2 answer...NONONONOOOOOOOO

AGDee 01-24-2011 03:44 PM

Pour the three into 2? What are you talking about???

Don't you fill the three gallon container up twice (for a total of six gallons)? Each time you fill it up, you pour it into the five gallon container. Since it can only hold five gallons, you're left with one gallon in the three gallon container.

Use the 3gal to fill the 5 gal. Repeat. Whatever spills out the 2nd time will be 1 gal.

I had the right idea, but was lacking in simplifying the logistics. :p
