They think they are so smart....hiding behind the shower curtain!

My all time favorite! Bronco loves to eat TP!

I've had them for nine months and I just found out that they are girls. The breeder (who is a vet! & long time chinchilla hobbyist) told me that they were boys.....I asked for boys.

Oh well, I love them now and wouldn't trade their estrogen for the world.:D

So cute!

How do you tell them apart?

Your chicken sure is a cutie :D I vote you get another one!

SWTXBelle 01-04-2008 03:38 PM

Sorry about your dad's kitty, elf.

And I'm thinking of getting four chicks - Helen, Frances, E.Adeline and Mary. :D

OMG I love the chicken!

And I usually hate rodents, but that little mouse is adorable!:p

I cheated. I used a red sharpie and put two big red marks in Thunder's right ear lobe...hehehe.

IT'S THE ONLY WAY! THEY LOOK TOO MUCH ALIKE!

Guilty. I swore I never would, and then our first pup, Holly, ended up sleeping with us every night. And when we got our second pup, Kimchi, we swore SHE would be crated, and somehow she is in our bed now too. But, we're about to make the official transition to crazy dog people because my fiance has ordered stairs for them to get up to the bed, since Holly has bad knees and its hard for her to jump up and down.

Maybe our next dogs we'll have the bed to ourselves...

SWTXBelle 01-04-2008 10:43 PM

Sleep with the pets?

NO. It's bad enough I have to put up with the 4 year old crawling into bed all the time. I draw the line at my dog and the chickens.

haha that's OK... I would have done the same thing. I think they look so similar too which is why I asked how you could tell it was one eating TP and not the other :p

My doggie sleeps with me.

When I first got her I told myself she would stay in her crate and off my bed... but a few months ago, I had just got back from a week-long business trip, and while she was happy to see me, she was acting depressed all day. I felt so bad and thought it might make her feel better if she was close to me at night... for just a few nights right?

Uh huh... she's been sleeping in my bed ever since...

SigKapAngel767 01-05-2008 02:11 PM

I don't know what's gonna happen when my husband deploys and comes back after 6 months and my doggies have been in the bed with me the whole time...yeah...haha:)

ForeverRoses 01-09-2008 10:24 AM

My cats sleep with us, usually they divide up and the kitten sleeps with the 2-year old, and the older two sleep on the foot of my bed. I had a kitty that would actually crawl under the covers with us and sleep next to our feet, but he passed away...

My 5 year old has the top bunk in the boys' room- but the cats can't get up to his bed, so we do occasionally lift up one of the cats so that he has a cat to sleep with as well!

I had never had a cat before and when I brought Brando home from the shelter, I had read all the stuff about "your new cat may want to be by himself for a week or so." So when I went to bed (he's been w/ me for only about 4 hours at this point) I put him in my back room and closed the door & went to bed. It took about 5 minutes to hear a very insistent MEOW MEOW MEOW coming from the room. I let him out, he came into my bedroom, and jumped up onto my bed. He's slept there every night since.

The only problem is when he decides he wants to sleep ON my chest - he is 20 lbs, but it's amazing what you can get used to. This is the only time when he cuddles - in bed (lol, just like a guy).

ree-Xi 01-09-2008 10:43 AM

My boys (cats) have to sleep with us, or at least have the door open if they decide to sleep with us. One of them is an angel...he gets right into against my belly, and the other one will usually mill around and scratch the underside of the mattress because he wants us up.

On a good night, both boys are sound asleep, one with each me and my husband. There is nothing sweeter than waking up and seeing two kitties stretched across the bed. Especially when I don't feel well!

My cat used to sleep on my bed all the time, but she irritates my husband's allergies if she does that now - she's completely banned from our bedroom to keep her fur off our bed :( Now she sleeps pressed completely up against our bedroom door waiting for us to come back to her in the morning ...

DreamfulSpirit 05-26-2008 01:37 PM

I have two dogs, both are muts:

This is Rusty...we don't know what mix she is, she's gonna be 10 in September:

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...rustypuppy.jpg

Back in March she had a hematoma on her ear and had to have it drained, the vet put one of those cone collars on her:

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...andhercone.jpg

And this is Heidi. She's a mutt as well, but we think she might be a McNab Shepherd: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McNab_(dog)

Heidi as a little puppy back in January:

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...t/Heidi004.jpg

And now at about 6 months old:

I've gotta say, Rusty looks like the happiest dog I've ever seen with one of those cones on! Both are adorable

Our Zoo...

I've posted a few pictures of Forrest our basset before, but here's the rest of the zoo (and of course Forrest!)

Forrest and his daddy (does he count as a pet??) fishing in our back yard.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...t/DSC01453.jpg

Our cat Hunter from above, stalking through the yard.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...t/DSC01463.jpg

Josie out in the yard, hanging out.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...t/DSC01467.jpg

Gabrielle is a stray that adopted us a few years ago. She's the best cat, but she's still very timid.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...t/DSC01468.jpg

Here is how Forrest sleeps most nights, because he hates waking up in the morning, the sun gets in his eyes. Tough life isn't it?

Aww that's such a cute pic of Forrest halfway under the bed! Funny place to sleep! My dog hides under our futon when she thinks we're gonna leave and lock her up in the kitchen.
She also stole a pair of my socks in this picture.

Actually, that's the "don't put me in doggie jail" look. She doesn't care if she steals a sock. She's gotten better, though!

Thank you. :) Besides shedding all the time, goldens are amazing dogs especially if you have kids.

Oh I know, great family dogs. I would love one but FH wants one a little smaller I think (under 50 pounds). But I think I could talk him up a bit ;) We'll probably end up finding one at the shelter and you'd be hard-pressed to find a golden at the humane society but I'd rather rescue something from unnecessary euthanasia than be picky, however awesome getting a golden would be.

This is Nala. She's 10 years old and very spoiled. She loves belly rubs and will head butt a person until she gets her belly rubbed. Silly kitty. Her nickname is Lizard Queen because she loves to hunt, catch, and bring home lizards as presents for Mike & I.

This is Bella. She is 2 years old, very curious, and spoiled as well. She likes belly rubs ONLY by Mike but she thinks it is very appropriate to wake me up at 4 am to play. Her nickname is Catfish because she has the longest whiskers I have ever seen on a cat & she likes to rub them on my face when I sleep. Unfortunately, she rarely stays still long enough for me to get a really good picture of her.
