Maybe its a culture/sub-culture thing?

Obviously there are guys from any background that have "skills" with the ladies. But maybe some cultures or sub-cultures make it more likely that a higher percentage of guys will actually approach women? And maybe some of these cultures actually will let them approach and be more confident, with better things to say.

The stereotype is the nice little white boy that doesn't actually go up to any girls or have anything to say to them if he does, sitting around later bemoaning the fact that he doesn't meet any girls.

Like if God meant him to have a girl God would just magic her into his bed. Although that really doesn't require "skills" just money. :p

Hm - trying to get outside of the racial aspects of things...

I don't mind guys who stand around just drinking their beer with their friends. Those are actually the ones I check out. The guys (of whatever race - purble, blue, white, pink, green, black) who are trying to get up on every girl on the dance floor acting like they deserve to have this flock of women surrounding them turn me off.

Sure, it might look like they have more "skills." But, I guess just in my opinion, I prefer the guys who don't need to dance with every girl in the bar to confirm to themseleves that they are the shit. The guy who is just having a good time without having to show off how many girls he can get is more attractive to me.

Edit: Oh, and how many girls actually want a man who is "skilled" in the art of picking up girls? If you are skilled at something, that means it pretty much takes no effort (even after a lot of practice). So basicly all these men with "skills" are using the exact same thing on you as they are other girls. What is special about that?

I go to a predominantly white club almost every weekend. I love love love white boys(and I have several friends that can dance as well). However, they do lack skills in the digits-retrieval service and usually it's me who ends up approaching them. But that doesn't mean that they are like this all of the time though. Sometimes they do alright. In fact, I have an address book full of those who do alright.
These days, I don't think that they can use the sorry 'black girls aren't into white boys' excuse because that sh- is played out. I have tons of friends who like white guys but they are too busy talking to girls who dress like madonna during the 80s.
Example: My sorority sisters and I went out to the club. We were all dressed in threads from Banana Republic and Cache. The guys in the club do not want a woman that is clothed with nothing but arms and legs showing. In fact, they went straight for the blue jean shorts, dirty high top sneakers, and bandana tie around the neck shirt girls because they were groping each other.
